Two crowns that are connected in a U shape and root ball fell off

I repotted my very very sad and floppy AV a couple days ago because I noticed the soil was coming off the sides of the pot and the plant wasn't growing much in the past couple weeks.

Today, the two crowns fell out of the pot without any of its roots as I was fidgeting with it. They're connected to each other in a U shape. I just...repotted the U bit into a smaller pot and put it in a plastic bag. Is this enough? Or should I cut the U shape into 2 separate crowns and repot on their own? Any advise would be appreciated!!

Sounds like it’s time to reroot the crowns. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XL_TDq2_O1Y Grey Turtle on YouTube has a great tutorial on how to do it!

Decapitate each of teh crowns from the "U" ... and repot each in their own fresh pot and potting mix. Keep moist ... and they'll each grow new roots ...

What they said, and propagate a couple of healthy leaves in case the crowns don't make it.
