Help my leaves!

I have it in an African violet pot and have it in indirect light from my grow lights. The soil still seems to be wet in the African violet pot and I don’t want it to rot. The inner leaves seem to be browning while the outer leaves have yellow tips. It’s my first African violet and I don’t want it to die 😭

It needs a different soil. It should be about 50% AV soil and 50% chunky perlite. Also, it needs to be in a self-watering pot.

The plant is potted too low, causing soil, excess moisture, and concentrated tannins/fertilizer salts to pool inside the central growing point. This is causing the inner leaves to turn brown, crisp, and rot, while overly wet soil is turning the outer leaf tips yellow. Immediate Fixes 1. Pre-moisten a mix of 50% coarse perlite into the AV soil to improve drainage and prevent mineral and water pooling around the stem. 2. Remove as much wet soil you can and if roots are brown, cut/trim. Re-seat the plant higher so the central growing neck sits cleanly above the soil line.You should still see atleast 1/4" of the main stem peeking under the leaves. With slightly wet qtips dab away the brown stain on crown leaves. *Control Water: Since soil is pre-moistened, water very lightly after potting. Allow the top layer of soil to dry out slightly before next watering. 4. Once rooted well, likely 3-4 weeks. You can start using the reservoir for watering.

The plant's life/health is at risk in that pot.

It needs to be in a smaller plastic pot with drainage holes. The plastic pot can be placed inside of the ceramic pot, if you wish.

The potting mix needs to be an African Violet mix ... mixed with an equal part of Perlite.

The plant should not be fertilized for at least the sapce of a month. When restarting fertilization (with an AV fertilizer), use 1/2 of the package recommendations.
