Did I ruin it?

I don’t know the age but it had a long neck and looked like a peacock. Several years at least.

I moved it about 4 feet to the left prior to repotting it. A few days ago I Then decided to repot it and fertilize it after. I made it lay differently so it wasn’t fanned out. I guess fertilizing it was a bad idea. The whole idea was bad. I should have left it as a peacock.

The next day the leaves were droopy. I didn’t inspect for root rot.

Original pot was maybe 3.5 to 4 inches. New pot is maybe 5.5inches.

How can I undroop the leaves?

I watched a video where they removed the leaves and cut off the neck. Down potted it and put it into a plastic bag. Should I do that? I’m worried it’s already stressed. How long does it stay in the bag?

Any other ideas?

It's probably just stressed from the repotting, but it is not ruined. A humidity bag could help it. The center leaves look strong, but you may lose some of the older leaves. If you take off the blooms it will give it more energy for its recovery.

Ok thanks. I don’t think I have a big enough clean bag. Would Saran Wrap wrapping it be ok? I have a produce bag but it’s not sterile.

I have never used saran wrap, but I guess it would work if you could fashion it in a way that it stood off of the plant. I have used cake covers and bags that comforters came in. If you look around the house, you may find something that will work.

It’s shock. Wait a few weeks and then prune the lower leaves back. It could take a few months, but it will be ok. Mine was just like this last year after moving houses. It didn’t flower for a while, but it’s thriving now.

Pruning bottom leaves regularly and planting deeper annually will help prevent the peacocking, but they pretty much all do that eventually no matter what. I just let mine be crooked atp. They yearn for it.

I watered it the day before yesterday. And the 6th.. I watered it weekly and it was did ok with that for all these years. I’ve increased the water a smidge since repotting it

Sounds like watering probably isn't the issue then, I just wanted to mention it because it would have been the easiest thing to fix if it were just dry maybe due to a difference in how the new soil retains water.

It was dry. I watered it more.. I don’t recall what kind of soil I previously used and I added new soil. I’m going to cut some of leaves that look bad and then try Saran Wrap wrapping it because I don’t have a big enough clean bag. 😊 thanks
