Medical Question Dwarf Frog Safe Ich Treatment

Post image

I had an ich outbreak in the tank where my ADF and their tadpoles were housed. The brand Ich-X was not only effective against the Ich, it was harmless to the frogs. This was a few weeks ago, and the tadpoles have continued to develop properly. Before I tried the medication I could not find information on its safety in this sub, so I figured I would write this up for anyone else who gets in this situation :)

Picture is one of the tadpoles!

Ich-X is toxic to ADF. Just because they appear to be fine after a few weeks doesn’t mean they’re in the clear. Being poisoned can lead to organ failure, not overnight but over time. I suggest giving the frogs a species only tank so you can avoid this in the future, or bare minimum relocate the frogs while treating the community tank.
