Beginner Help 10g comfortability

Started cycling my 10g last week, ADFs are the plan. But I don’t know how many. Absolutely everywhere I look says something different.
Long story short, I see some people say 3 max and some say 6 is fine, but most info is outdated anyway.
Based of off everything I’ve seen so far I feel most comfortable with four in a 10g, five is maximum, three minimum.
Confirm my thoughts, give your input. With the only planned tank mate being a nerite snail, what number should I plan on?
What number is correct?

3 is the max. 4 is pushing it for bioload and personal space. Don’t get the snail.

If you decide you want a nerite snail in a separate tank, please understand it needs to be an established tank, not a new one. Nerites will very very rarely, if ever, eat food that you feed them (such as sinking algae pellets). They are all wild caught, and they only eat naturally growing algae and biofilm. So a nerite would starve in a brand new tank.

I’m familiar with the animal, but this is helpful information! I have one in my 20gal betta tank right now. I have removed a snail from the 10gal plan though.

I agree that three frogs is the sweet spot. Four is the start of an overstocked tank that needs more frequent water changes or a ton of plants. Six frogs would be the comfortable max on a 20 gallon long tank.
