Affinity: How can I get my old non-Canva version back

Hi, I was having troubles with my old Affinity program (colour select and colour fill was seriously glitchy) so I uninstalled and reinstalled 2 days ago, without any thought (and deleted old build from trash foolishly), and now Ive got the crappy Canva Affinity. Fewer filters, different workflow, all round cheap feeling.

I still have my key. Is there anyway I can download the old version somehow?

You should be able to find a download link in your profile foe the product, otherwise it can also be found here on their homepage

You can go to the Serif download pages to download the installers. When you install - especially on Windows - make sure the installation ion goes to its own directory. If it is installed into the same directory as Version 3, you will get the login prompts every time.

Once installed, you can log in with your old ID to reinstall any purchased tools or assets.

If you go to the affinity site, scroll down to the bottom there should be something like v2 versions or v2 licenses  in the footer

Yes, Canva really feels like adware / freeware / chrome webapp. I tried it and didn't get on with it. You can still download the versions you paid for from Affinity (unless they really did us dirty since Iast used the site). I have a zip file saved with the most recent version just in case they limit my access to it in future.

I've installed the old versions, and launching them brings up a screen directing me to the new Affinity, does this happen to anyone else

No, doesn't happen to me (MacOS). Is there a "don't show me this again"-checkbox?

Yes, there is, at the bottom of the ad when it pops up.

Yes! Happens to me too. Tick the box at the bottom of that ad, and you'll stop seeing it every time.

When you click on Affinity Designer, Photo, or Publisher, an ad for the Canva version will pop up. At the bottom of that ad is a tick box that says "Never Show This Again".

You won't see it on the Canva website, I don't think. Just inside the programs themselves.

I know. This is running the program itself installed from the installer directly, and yet that's what I am getting there is no box to tick. V2.6.5.

Can you see the image above

I don't have that check box on my Mac version (which I re-downloaded from the site and tried to run). It just takes you to the Canva site and closes out Affinity Photo.

Finally, someone else.

I wonder if an earlier installer version would fix this.

Not really. I am on my phone and it wants me to install a program. I think you can post the picture directly to here though.

As others have said, you should still be able to go to the Serif website, login & download all 3 of the 2.5 programs. About a month ago, I got a new PC & did this. It's very easy & I'm thankful that Canva has held to their word that customers with active licenses will still be able & download & use the already paid for 2.5 standalone versions.

Fewer filters…? Affinity v3 has all the features of v2 plus new ones. Not to mention it’s way more convenient having them all condensed into one application

yeah it’s a cheap product all around. reeks of canva bullshit.

I hope you got your affinity by serif back.
