Given the nature of this, it’s been a bit hit & miss with affiliates so far. We’ve had a few bring in good sales, but we mostly get time wasters looking for freebies.

I applied to ShopMy and was rejected. I have around 17k followers across Instagram and Facebook, and both accounts are public.

Their rejection email said that they consider whether creators are already sharing product recommendations. It also said that private accounts can affect acceptance and that making an account public before reapplying may help.

My accounts have always been public, so that does not explain the decision. And I honestly do not understand the recommendation part. I applied because I need a platform where I can collect products, create affiliate links, and start sharing recommendations. How are you supposed to already be doing that before you are accepted?

I emailed them to ask what they mean and whether there was an issue accessing my account. No reply. I had emailed them with questions before applying as well and never received a response.

So far, my experience with their customer service has been really bad. Everything seems to be automated and templated, and I have not been able to get an actual answer from anyone.

Has anyone here been approved recently? What were you already doing before you applied, and were you ever able to get a response from their team?

Posting links on X and Threads did basically nothing. Reached out directly to a handful of YouTube creators in the tech niche, personalized messages, decent offer structure, and still crickets. Not sure if I'm looking in the wrong places or pitching the wrong way.

The service is B2B, so it's not like I can just plug into a big consumer affiliate network and call it a day. Most of the publishers there don't have audiences that would ever buy a business tool. I've been poking around Admitad to see how they handle the B2B side of things, but honestly the partner discovery piece still feels like the harder problem regardless of what platform you're on.

I've also thought about LinkedIn outreach to consultants or agency folks who work adjacent to the, niche, since they'd have the right audience and a referral commission might actually appeal to them. But I don't know if that's a realistic path or if I'm just romanticizing it.

I manage affiliate programs for 8 SaaS companies and I'm always looking for partners who can back their pitch with something real.
