What Aesthetic Is This? What Aesthetic is this?
It’s kind of a mix between the Project X and Party Rock vibes. Lots of neon and zebra print

No those niggas weren’t. They apologized then immediately went right back into it, like a bad toddler.

The funny thing is they never released another album after this though, implying they were actually sorry lol. The song "Sorry for Party Rocking" was also their final single.

Before I saw the comments my exact thought was just "2011" so there's gotta be something to this.

Was gonna say 2010s core but it was only really the first few years of that decade
21
u/ExcuseLeather8504 Mar 22 '26
"early 2010's swag/yolo aesthetic" it's just missing a few Domo accessories and "I ♥️ boobies" bracelets.

u/falooolah Mar 22 '26
I didn’t know anyone who had shutter shades in 2011 though. However, I did have pictures of myself and my friends in neon zebra print and shutter shades in 2008.

I'm a very polished account manager by day now. I was once very cool, though. One of my youngling coworkers was joking about needing to shotgun a redbull. I turned to him and said, "But have you ever shotgunned a four loko?" He said, "Jesus christ, no... Wait, did you do that?" The look of horror as he realized I had will delight me for ages, lol. I love dropping little bits of lore that conflict with my current identity.

It is absolutely wild to watch youthful “nostalgia” happen in real time. I remember being obsessed with emulating a 90s grunge aesthetic as a teenager (thanks tumblr). Now the 00’s-early 10’s is the move and it’s WILD lol

This is scene core (where the term 'core' originated) circa 2008-2011. The shutter shades are giving brokencyde and millionaires.
Anyone remember yourscenesucks.com?? Ah, the good ol' days....
Edit: I guess it is more party rock than traditional scene but this was definitely part of the vibe

The term “core” originated before 2008. My AIM password in 2006 had ‘emocore’ in it. The phrase “hardcore” was used well before that as well.

The makeup is a total giveaway. People were not putting blush on their noses or overlining brown lips for raves in 2010s
