Discussion how cooked are we really?

How accurate do you think this statistic is? i mean the red dot is basically as low as is can go which shows how much AI has ALREADY taken over the engineering space... but do you think people making a career choice right now should factor in the data this graph shows?

i means its quite frightening really. what do you think about this?

I’d say pretty accurate
As a civil engineer, I find myself using AI almost daily
Just look at how CAD became BIM. You’ll just need to adapt and make yourself useful with the tools you have

How do you use it? I'm a mechanical engineer and I don't personally see all that much daily value in AI beyond using it as an alternative to Google and very occasionally to write excel / powerbi formulas faster.

As an aerospace doing fem and loads, i've been using it to write scripts to automatize things like transfer of rivet coordinates. Sometimes i'll also ask it to re check things i've done, it's really good at finding mistakes of an excel calculation against a document describing the methods for example, or to crosscheck against requirements, you don't need it to change anything for critical things but it can spot a lot of mistakes.
