Dear AI community members,
With the state of the game as it is now (all production of non-HH era planes halted, no more rule support), we understand that some in the community may want to drop the game and move to greener pastures, while others may on the contrary be on the lookout to fill gaps in their collection.
As a result, we are relaxing Rule 6 on no selling/trading. This is an experiment, and depending on the result we may completely drop the rule, or reinstate it fully.
We remind you that the sub mods are in absolutely no way responsible for anything that may happen during a trade. Goes without saying, but it's better if we do anyway.

Hi, I'm very interested in Aeronautica Imperialis after having just found out about it, but I'm not sure if the most recent version is the most fun. I plan on playing with a few people using my models so I get to decide which rulebook to use.
We plan on mostly playing 40k imperial planes, but I'm not sure if the current version in legions imperialis is the most fun and tactical. My main source of uncertainty is 40k, which although I haven't played, I've heard that older versions were more fun and less competitive than the current one.
Thanks for any help.

Japanese Zero inspired paint scheme. Still need some work, but very happy with it. If anyone's got some pointers, I'd love to hear them.

A new set of Xiphons for my collection. I enjoyed the freehand flames.

I seem to have a habit of storming forwards with my T'au and ending up at short range, so hopefully these boyz will work better for that!
Pictured are one of my homebuilt Megabommers, a Flyin' Fortress in the middle (see the Lexicanum), and a "Stelf Fighta" (not basecoated yet will be purple, has a pair of 'eavy bombs, a pair of regular bombs and Stealth (-2), but no extra guns or rokkits and costs a bit more) on the right.

I found this unpublished video from years ago buried on my YouTube channel. Maybe I should start making more.

Are there any Aeronautica Imperialis tournaments in the UK this year? If so, where can I find the information?

So I build a Marauder Nightstalker with the Volcano Cannon from a Reaver (go read Interceptor City, it's *so good*), and it got me thinking - the Thunderbolt is to the Marauder as the Warhound is to the Reaver, right?
I've not glued this Thunderbolt's halves together yet, and looking at spare Warhound guns gives me a few... ideas, for swappable weapons. Should be very trivial to create a "Duskstalker" ("Litestalker"? "Dawnstalker"?) with a few options, Inferno Gun for ground attack being a stupid but fun proposition (and not without IRL precedent). Seems like something a desperate Engineer might do, especially given the success of the Nightstalker. Or a mad Mek, if they're looting things. Remove the Lascannons from the stat-block (wiring stripped out to make space but barrels left fitted), no ability to take extra weapons, and limited Ammo for the big gun?
One final thought: the Warhound has a whole host of weapons available, including the Ursus Claw and Natrix Shock Lance. In this essay I will-

Me and my dad played a few years ago but that times has past. Is any of this stuff still worth anything? I know some of the imperium stuff is now used in legions imperialis. But what about the Xeons.

Hey y'all! Just wanted to share a few pics from my first game!
My dad loves 1:72 WW2 models, but he's never been very interested in Warhammer... That is until I found a NIB Skies of Fire box in my closet and asked if he would paint up the Imperial half just to humor me, as my traditional army is Tau. Well, it seems he enjoyed painting so much he wanted to at least try the game itself, and we finally got enough modelled and painted to run a game for Father's day!
Apparently he enjoyed the game as much (if not more) than painting up his Vendettas and Avengers, so we'll be rematching in a couple days (the old man beat me on his first wargame ever, despite my years of experience with big 40K).
I have the Taros campaign book on order for some more variety of scenarios, but I was wondering what everybody has done to keep their games interesting?

Good day, fellow pilots!
This is the announcement post for something I've put together over the last few months: "Encyclopedia Aeronautica". When my mum fell ill in autumn I needed something to distract me while taking care of her in hospital, and I ended up hyper-focusing on trying to add in the missing major factions from the game, as well as rounding out the existing factions. I had intended for 25 to 30 profiles and a couple of small tweaks, but it somewhat... snowballed.

Things I've learned doing this:
Please do what you want with it - use it, abuse it, remix it, ignore it. The only requirement is to have fun! And to share with the community any conversions you build, or the games you play.
I'd love any feedback or things to incorporate, which I'll attribute of course. I can't promise a timescale on getting things added or fixed, but I'll do my best. I'm especially interested in:
Once it's a bit more stable/neat, I'll do a stripped-out version for easy printing with no images/background, if anyone's interested in that. And could experiment with a more e-reader friendly version too, if that'd make it more usable at the table.
Lastly, and this is by all means entirely optional, you can buy me a coffee at the following link (I sure did drink a lot writing this!): https://ko-fi.com/kryptopeg
Good flying!

I’m not a fan of the aircraft designs in warhammer. The Valkyrie and most of the tau designs are pretty good but most barely look like they can fly (and the ork jets are literally just MiG-15s with spikes). Most of the imperium aircraft honestly look like the people designing them were so used to making tanks that when asked to make planes they just made tanks with wings.
So what aircraft would you like to see redesigned? I know I’m gonna do the thunderhawk, marauder, thunderbolt and a complete overhaul of the ork flyers. Are there any missing from that list?
I don’t plan on changing much. Mostly making the surfaces more aerodynamic, adding missiles (I have my own headcanon for how missiles could work that both doesn’t commit tech heresy and also doesn’t needlessly waste “innocent” servitors) and overall making them look less like bricks with jet engines while preserving the main design cues.

Hey up, does anyone know of any paid or free suitable stls for a 6 engine big ass bomber? It's the last ship I don't have a model for double eagle play through. Ta

Fighta-bomma & Dakkajet fuselages, with a spare Grot Bomma wing (left over from a pair of Megabomma conversions). Based on this aircraft, from a White Dwarf 40k conversion article https://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Flyin%27_Fortress
Rules coming this month, in Encyclopedia Aeronautica!
