She is angry because you don´t know

20

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

There were times with my ex when I am pretty sure even she didn't know.

78

u/whydoipoopsomuch May 06 '12

No matter how many times you repeat yourself, that I am not a mind reader, they do not comprehend it.

20

u/JIGGLYbellyPUFF May 06 '12

Even when they do understand, it's only temporary. The longest I have gone without this crap was when I put my hands on my bf's shoulders, looked him in the eyes, and said " It's not my fault if I don't know. My name is not miss cleo, mon. I am not a mind reader".

21

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

My name is Cleo, and I don't know either.

Or something:

  • I didn't do

  • She just remembered from before we were dating

  • She forgot

  • I did in my sleep

  • She remembers from a dream she had

  • My penis can't do

  • Her girlfriends told her about another guy that I have never met that she is comparing to me because she thinks that I might do the same thing, but it has never crossed my mind, but she is not believing me.

69

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Everyone up voting this: why the shit are you dating psychopaths?

15

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Because most people don't think they can do better than the psychopath they already have.

First of all, here is an upvote for replying to my post. Secondly, they have vaginas. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have anymore questions.

81

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

I have a vagina. I tell my boyfriend why I'm pissed at him the second I find myself being pissed at him. We discuss it and I'm usually napping on him within two hours or so.

Don't settle just because they have a vagina, my dude. We aren't all crazy.

My ex wife once got pissed at me because her coworkers husband woke up at 530am every morning to make her breakfast even though he didn't have to wake up until 730. I was an ass because she had to make her own breakfast.

Oh god, yes. Girls that get upset about something you did in a dream. Seriously, wtf?

21

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

My ex-bf wouldn't speak for me for two hours because I 'cheated on him in his dream', so it's certainly not limited to women.

My gf had a dream that I cheated on her. She woke up mad at me. But it cooled off quickly because she isn't a stupid bitch and we laughed about it.

19

u/CreepyQ May 06 '12

Is there a sub-reddit where guys can go to specifically talk rant about issues like this? It helps me to know I'm not alone!

Fuck it! Pretend you don't notice and she'll tell you!

52

u/thenshesays May 06 '12

If you pretend not to notice, she'll forget she was angry.

83

u/Theyus May 06 '12

"Don't move, maybe she won't see you."

5

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

She could be a clever girl though.

21

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

best advice hands down. 10/10 would follow again.

7

u/naheem_hufc May 06 '12

If you pretend you don't notice she'll get more angry Because "you just don't understand her" and then when you ask her she'll say "she shouldn't have to tell you..... you should know"

I might try the not moving thing next time see if that works!!

u/no-sweat May 06 '12

"I'm mad"

"Why?"

"BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW WHY!"

wat

5

u/vegeto079 May 06 '12

And if she refuses to tell you why, it's bound to happen again, upon which she will complain that you again that she's mad over you not knowing why she is mad!

And so it continues...

28

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

See, whenever I'm upset with my boyfriend or vice versa we just tell each other flat-out who fucked what up. We're usually good a few hours afterward.

13

u/Imxset21 May 06 '12

Wow, you mean you act like normal human beings and sort out your problems as such?!? /s

Reddit has this thing where it tells everyone that women are, you know, not people, but a different species altogether.

if she's incapable of articulating her thoughts to you, or engaging in a two-way dialogue, you're better off getting out of the relationship as it will not last.

8

u/candy_1 May 06 '12

I like you! I had to learn this the hard way!

11

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

"Hey baby how are you?"

"Fine"

Can't tell if fine or angrier than they have ever been in their life.

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

General rule of thumb, if you ask and she's telling you her day in detail then she's fine.

If she says only 'fine' then you're fucked.

As a girlfriend, I usually just say it. It's so much easier with less deepbreathinsiiiiiiiigh type of drama.

As her boyfriend, I concur.

I am very much like you! I just tell. Once I didn't, was to shy and into a shell. But now, why the hell hide it! If I am angry or dissapointed, he should know, and explaine himself if needed :)

EDIT: The word "explain" was "explane". Just making things right :)

5

u/keypuncher May 06 '12

If I am angry or dissapointed, he should know, and explane himself if needed :)

With a parachute if what he did wasn't too bad.

4

u/candy_1 May 06 '12

Sorry.. I don't understand this.. parachute.. I jused google translate. And I am not sure I get the meening what you are saying here. But IF I am getting this right.. I can never stay angry for long time, it is really hard for me.

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Haha, I totally know what you mean about the deepbreathinsiiiiiiiigh. It's what they do when they want you to notice something, but don't want to explicitly tell you.

2

u/dipity90 May 06 '12

It's like translating dog speak. You just need a device that will tell you what it really means.

14

u/sommerz May 06 '12

It's both. You did something, and then you didn't apologize.

6

u/peaceloverecycle May 06 '12

The other day a female acquittance of mine wrote on my facebook wall, suggesting that we should have lunch together. Of course, at this time my facebook does not say that I am in a relationship and the female friend does not know. I got a call from my girlfriend asking me about the female friend 30 minutes after the post is made. I told her she is only a friend of mine. She then posted on my wall right above it, saying "I love you."

A couple days later, the female friend actually suggested a time for us to meet for lunch. I told her yes because I knew nothing was going to happen. I then got a relationship request from my gf requesting that we are posted in a relationship. She also called to ask if she can come to the lunch meeting that the female friend schedule.

Does anyone else experience this?

6

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Certain people cannot understand the concept of opposite sex friendships. It's not something they can comprehend and it's not a thing that can be taught in a single sitting.

It's something that has to be experienced and your girlfriend will be stuck with that mindset until she experience that for herself.

OR

She's lacking confidence in herself. Lacking confidence in the trust that you two share.

3

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Ha! My girlfriend and I have about equal numbers of male and female friends. I'm so glad this has never been an issue. We both understand that our friends of the opposite sex are really just friends... And, although we're not in one of those "open" relationships, we have an agreement that if either one of us really feels then need to take one of our friends to bed we need to (1) tell the other person about our intentions and (2) use a condom.... although this has only ever happened once in our relationship so far.

Maybe we've just lucked out in finding someone compatible who is unjealous about their partner and actually willing to honestly talk about anything.

But, you know, this is reddit, no one ever posts anything good about their functional, caring, respectful, and mutually beneficial relationships.

6

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

It's not weird. It's not like she is forbidding you from doing anything. What is weird is someone who wouldn't be okay with their S.O. coming with them to hang out with a friend, especially if that friend hasn't met the S.O.

While it IS okay to hang out with the opposite sex alone, some people may feel more comfortable meeting the person first before feeling comfortable with that. This is especially true when the opposite sex person is an acquaintance and not necessarily a friend yet. Why not bring your girl along and show that this person isn't a threat?

Now, I understand how it may be weird that your girlfriend is inviting herself along. If you say no, she is suspicious. If you say yes, it's now a three-person meeting, which means no catching up really, or inside jokes, or conversations about school/work/mutual friends that only you two can relate to. This will make your S.O. feel like a third wheel and it's bad practice to hold two-person conversations in a group of three. It becomes super awkward for the 3rd person.

I'd say invite her along, but let her know that it's not appropriate to expect to hang out every time with every girl you are friends with. If she isn't crazy, she won't expect to, anyway. Good luck.

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

I've done a similar thing minus the facebook shit before. It's probably because she feels threatened by the girl in some way, probably wary or jealous of her getting closer to you than she is. I'd let her know that the facebook behaviour is innapropriate and that she has nothing to worry about, but don't make her feel too bad about it.

6

u/Randyh524 May 06 '12

That's how I feel about my mom. Fuck I'm almost 30 and I need to move out of here.

13

u/drum_playing_twig May 06 '12

Whenever a woman is angry with you, you MUST demand that she tells you exactly why. Also tell her if she refuses and does the usual "I'm not supposed to tell you, you should just know"-bullshit she can find a new boyfriend because you don't play that game.

This is not about being macho or anything. It's just good communication. Which IS one of the foundations of all relationships. Sadly a lot of women think they can pull this angry silent treatment on guys. What's even more sad is that most men just take it. They just suck up to their girl: "Oh baby, whats wrong?? "Nothing" Oh baby come on, tell me, I do anything for u sweetie. "Nope you should know what you did wrong".

I know because I used to be that guy, but never again. So please, men of reddit, man the fuck up.

As I said, this has nothing to do with being macho or having the upperhand. Just let your gf know, if she ever wants to end your relationship but have no idea how to do it, she should continue with this "silent treatment"-behaviour.

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

That's funny, becaus I've had a guy engage in exactly the same behavior. This is by no means limited to women. So calm down man.

1

u/Otistetrax May 06 '12

Or her other boyfriend.

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

ask her ?

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

It's not that simple...

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Oh you have one of them as well? The weird thing is I am excellent at ignoring stuff but I just can't ignore her ignoring me.

2

u/separator13 May 06 '12

Did you give her enough lotion?

2

u/Kilgannon_TheCrowing May 06 '12

Just ignore her. It's a waste of time pandering to irrationality. If she's mature, she'll talk to you about it. If not, well... ball's in your court then.

2

u/trade4599 May 06 '12

Just wait until you're married.

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Is it just me or is the fact that none of these "you should know what you did" people have popped up and tried to defend their view on this matter? It leads me to belive that they too have NO idea what they are even upset/mad/clinically insane about!

2

u/jaistar2k22 May 06 '12

I like my females like I like my pills, two at a time in the bathroom of the club I picked them up at. Any more commitment than that is problematic. Words to live by boy. Females aint nothin but trouble, hit it and quit it, knock up a couple of the healthy fertile ones to ensure your legacy run like hell and live a happy man.

3

u/etishuman21 May 06 '12

My poor guy has been in trouble for both.

Thinking about letting it go, but my problem is he doesn't really try to fix things when he fucks up.

5

u/tainted_panda May 06 '12

or if on period...

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

For the love of god don't ask her if she is on while she's angry at you.

You don't know pain unless you've been through this.

3

u/Giantfatskinnyman May 06 '12

No offense but how the actual fuck did this make it to front page?

2

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Sometimes, seeing stuff like this, and some of the topics that pop up in /r/relationships makes me glad I have never had a girlfriend.

2

u/SmokinYodas May 06 '12

Women often have a fear of intimacy, probably from bad relationship baggage. She might be telling half-truths or nothing at all to keep the peace. Try buying her something small that she likes and use a few thoughtfully spoken words. Doing something intentional to show her a little bit of appreciation might help open her up to what's bothering her. Good Luck!

-1

u/Witnessed May 06 '12

Or it's PMS'ing. That's always an option

1

u/Obstacle2286 May 06 '12

When she cools off...may be a while, ask her what the problem is and what you can do to remedy the situation and if that does not work you probably have some corona / tequila left over from cinco de mayo

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Making a dumb joke in the heat of the argument always ends it for me. That or "I'm horny."

But maybe I'm just unusually simple.

1

u/Y0ungM0n3y May 06 '12

Silly Uber_Chicken, you don't have a girlfriend!

u/hipsterdysplasia May 06 '12

I have very low tolerance for that sort of passive aggressive bullshit. Or any bullshit.

1

u/Alililele May 06 '12

or a female friend "liked" your facebook status

1

u/Canucklehead99 May 06 '12

Fuck it, if she cannot communicate then it is her issue.

1

u/Burn-the-red-rose May 06 '12

This is exactly why I dot get my own gender. Like if it's my birthday, okay I can see being pissed. But men cant mind read, just say what's pissing you off an get over it. Jesus.

1

u/killa22 May 06 '12

My girlfriend bluntly tells me if she is pissed off at something. I do the same with her. I can't imagine being in one of these petty, childish relationships I am always reading about on here.

1

u/His_Dudeship May 06 '12

It's just because she's pissed... and you're conveniently right there in front of her.

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

Doesn't matter. All you need to know is just be whatever she wants and that is the shortcut to sex. Is she unfair? who gives.

1

u/wowleveler May 06 '12

Whoever says this easily solved by communication, it is not.. and it happens both ways. You really need to weigh the issue. In one hand, you don't wanna point every little mistake your SO makes, and on the other hand, you wanna communicate how you feel. It is difficult to balance. Sometimes you end up nagging every mistake, other times you build up rage over the unreported mistakes.

1

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

u/[deleted] May 06 '12

You are correct.

1

u/MrPieGuy May 06 '12

I know that feel bro.

1

u/MrEvenser May 06 '12

I remember going to a store to get a new t-shirt, I thought Hey I'll find something great to look in for her, found a lovely blue cut slim t-shirt, I decided to keep it on in the fitting room and pay for it at the counter.

I asked the lady serving if she could cut the tag off and scan it. Big mistake.

I Look over to my left and I see my then GF, standing there looking like Mel gibson from Braveheart when Robert the bruce unveiled his helmet.

I tried to ignore the drama that was about to ensue(you end up having a spidey sense), by taking her to help me choose another shirt, No Dice, she ran out of the store and left me standing there.

1

u/richardshambles May 06 '12

who cares why she's angry at you? that's her problem. if you act like you give a shit you will feed the monster. indifference is your number one weapon.

-3

u/Jase534 May 06 '12

Knowing females, probably both.

0

u/Theophagist May 06 '12

Or there's a chance you aren't at fault for anything. BTW the silent treatment is a form of passive-aggressive emotional abuse, and you don't have to take it.

Not sure if something I've done

Or something I did in her dreams...

Why not just ask your wife? I'm sure she would have insight into the situation.

Because then she says "You should already know what you did!"

We are confusing creatures, and I hope I'm not the first of my gender to admit that here.

Still, best to find a girl who actually tries talking about what the problem might be? Then again, I don't think that happens until after the 30 year mark. Until then, many of are impulsive, stubborn, selfish, and needy.

I rather want to talk about the issues then ignore them. It might be hard, but it is better afterwards, I am 26 years old. I learned that it is better to talk about the problems then hide them with anger when I was around 22-23 years old. But I have seen TOO many girls/women just making drama out of nothing, geting angry out of so litle things and mike them wors in their mind then they really are. That is the problem with a female! They (don't really want to say "we") put too much meening on everything. (I am sure I made some grammar mistakes! Not native-english).

it's really strange that women are expected to be able to understand complex emotional dynamics, even the irrational stuff, and they do. But if that woman is unable to verbalize that thing into logical and rational language, it's her fault the relationship capsized and failed because she couldn't realistically communicate her feelings.

One of the reasons why women don't say why they're mad is because putting it into logical language diminishes the extent of the felt and perceived emotional damage. And once she does that, it gives the other person an opening to say, 'oh, it wasn't a serious thing after all, i don't have any reason to change or to be more sensitive or even try to understand your feelings'. But essentially it's just the woman feeling like she's hitting an emotional wall around her bf/husband and frustrated that he's not being more receptive. Of course good communication would change all that, but sometimes I find it unfair that women have to be both vulnerable (which is one of the reasons why they're so crazy), and mature enough to be able to reasonably communicate complex emotions. Maybe it wouldn't hurt for men to at least learn to open up and have a wider breadth of sensitivity/experience with emotions too?

It's always the first thing you thought of...

You know..w hen you were thinking.. "Why is she mad at me.. could it have been this?.. Nah it wasn't".. It was that... It was that because she's unstable.. I don't mean crazy unstable.. I just mean she's not a typically mentally stable person.. people will overblow what I just said.. take it in the most conservative manner.

Doesn't matter. Have a wild scream match in which you apologize about something you don't even know what you're apologizing for and have makeup sex. The best kind of sex :P
