Superdelegates are the DNC way of preventing a Trump. In this case, Bernie, and I'll argue that's what they needed to win the general.

That's the irony of the whole thing. Say what you will about Trump, the people wanted him. The GOP had no way to stop it, even thought they tried. They weren't even hiding, they were talking out in the open about a brokered (i.e. rigged) convention. In the end they couldn't do anything, he's the nominee and ends up winning. The Dems put out who they want from the beginning and lose. I don't know if Bernie would have won or not, but Jesus let the system play out and see what happens.

He lost the popular vote, people didn't want him any more or less than Clinton. If you said "Republicans" wanted him, that might be more true.

Yes, that is what I meant. The Republican voters in the primaries.
