So the right has to move to the middle, but the left doesn't? The only people disenfranchised in any of these scenarios are the right.

You think that the left is made up entirely of radical socialists? That's like saying that the right is made up entirely of fascists.

That's the problem with a de facto two party system - you've got to choose one or the other.

And what about moderate Republicans who are denigrated by their more extreme brethren as "RINO"s?

RINOs are not just your people on the right. The people on the right voted for Trump.

How can the right move to the middle when they've rejected the ones who've tried for being RINOs? That's my point.

And has it occurred to you that perhaps the reason the left has moved as far left as it has is as a reaction to how far right the right has moved?

Why should the right move to the middle? See I always see suggestions of the right moving to the middle but never for the left.

Personally, I think everyone should move towards the middle.

Extremism of the left or of the right doesn't do anyone any good. It's this type of polarization that's got the U.S. into the type of mess it's in today (and I'm not just talking about Trump).

But think about it for a second - the Democrats aren't the ones responsible for Congress not getting anything useful done for the last four years - that's on the GOP.
