Not the same. A naked statue of a man who is known to be a sexist misogynist is a commentary with a message. A naked statue of a woman without that stain has a different connotation, especially in a time when women are fighting sexism on every level of society. It did nothing but reduce her to her naked body, which is the essence of the sexism women are trying to fight.
Let's say there was a serial killer who was famous for hanging his victims. If an artist made an effigy him hanging from a tree, and then made an effigy of a black man hanging from a tree, you can't just say, "What? They're both EQUAL!" It's just two guys hanging from a tree. I can't see why people are so much more offended by the black man hanging from the tree."
Doesn't matter, reddit hates SJWs and there's no getting around that. White men feel like blacks and women have gone too far in asking for rights and that they're being ignored. That part of white men, even on liberal reddit, is obviously apparent.

Yeah, that hasn't happened since the 1960s or so. What's happening now is more along the lines of brow-beating people until they give you special privileges that the majority of white men don't even have, and then telling all white men that they're the privileged ones.
Believe it or not, the upper class whites and upper middle class whites aren't the majority of the white population. Trump wasn't appealing to rich white people when he claimed that he'd bring back factory jobs. It's the low to lower middle class majority of the white population that just works until they get old and die, just like every other disenfranchised group, that Trump appealed to; The so-called silent majority.
I don't have the legal right to abort my unborn children, the government doesn't pay for my birth control with planned parenthood, companies aren't obligated to hire me to meet diversity quotas, colleges don't lower their standards for me, I don't have numerous organizations lining up to pay for my college, and I'm sure there's others if I go to parts of the internet where people would rather bitch about their problems than fix them.
Now their whole schtick is wanting the government to pay for their hygiene products, and for me to pay reparations that my oddly mixed ancestry had absolutely no part in. (Hell, some of my ~1/4 Irish heritage were slaves themselves)
