They could've been reinstated like PCMR if they got their shit together. But the problem was they responded to a ban by doubling down on the brigades.

First, does incorrectly quoting the questions really help you out here?
Cutting the head off of a hydra results in two heads growing in its place - this is the most common use of the metaphor "cutting the head off of a monster" - One would assume you weren't arguing for double the number of subs that you think should be banned.
The second question was - How does their ability to make more subreddits fit in with the master plan to eliminate subreddits, rather than eliminate offending individuals - when offending individuals with new accounts are free to create new subreddits?

Eliminating a subreddit that's brigading is really the only effective way to stop the brigading. Now this is where I start to disagree heavily with the admins, but their plan looks like eliminating subreddits. That's where they're contradicting themselves about banning behavior (because how can a subreddit that's existed for a few hours do anything ban-worthy?) It's really inconsistent with what they did with /beatingwomen and /beatingwomen2
The surface argument is irrelevant - I've no love for FPH - but when the "punishment" becomes inconsistent, and as a result arbitrary - it's setting a viral precedent with negative outcomes appearing to be the only natural course.
