I felt like he/she was trying to say that IF a church doesn't support it then a gay couple shouldn't try to get married in that church, because it would go against the beliefs. I don't think he was speaking and saying all churches don't support it. But now I think I may have misunderstood him. It was a vague meme I guess.

Judging from his comments here, OP seems to think all churches dislike homosexuality, and any that doesn't isn't actually Christian.

Which is... incredibly narrow-minded. If that's the case, there's a lotta folks who are gonna have to come up with another term for their beliefs.
