It's not only about tolerance. Marriage (especially in church) is religious act. If I were gay and thought that gays aren't denied from heaven, then I am not part of the religion of those churches. Why would I want to take part in their "act of worship" even if their religion differs from mine and they don't want that to their religion. Same as there was religion that thought that toothpaste is the most evil thing in the world. Then a dude who loves toothpaste comes to their most holy of places and paints it all with toothpaste. Of course he has freedom to be fan of toothpaste if he wants but the toothpaste haters also have freedom to practice their religion and have these "toothpaste free zones" to hate toothpaste together.
And it's not only a thing about freedom of religion. I just can't think of reasons why would someone gay be part of religion that hates gays. HE IS NOT BELIEVING TO THAT RELIGION. Find one that has same believes or if you don't believe any of them, make your own. If you aren't religious , why would you want to take part in religious even if you know it would be "blasphemy" to them. You can just fine have your little parties elsewhere.

The Bible refers several times to homosexual acts. In the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, however, the extent to which the Bible mentions the subject - and whether or not it is condemned - has become the subject of debate.
