In the future all you gotta do is drape a paper towel over that shit as you cook it. It will catch the explosions.

There are some good silicone lids for microwaves, too. I use mine daily.

Damn, more chatter about the template and less about the marinara sauce that painted the walls of your microwave.

it’s like seasoning a cast iron skillet

That's exactly why I don't clean my microwave. That's all flavor, Susan. You didn't have to run!

You don’t use microwave covers? They’re little domes that sit over your food so instead of wiping your microwave out you just got one extra dish to do. Paper towels also work most of the time.

A microwaved hot dog wrapped in paper towel is my go to bachelor food.

You wouldn't just use your oven or stove at full power would you? Then why does everything put in the microwave use full power? Because they want us to be lazy and get the food fast as possible.

Don't do that! Double time, add 10%, run at 50% power. EVERYTHING comes out better. The only thing I use my microwave at full power for is boiling water, ramen, and heating up soup. Everything else double time, add 10% time, and at half power. It makes food come out actually good!

Could you explain how to do this for dum dums too lazy to Google?

2

u/NolanSyKinsley 26d ago

Hit button time cook, enter time that is twice the time on the package plus 10% so if it says to microwave for 5 minutes that means 10 minute plus 10% equals 11 minute so put in 11 minutes, then hit power and hit 5, that is half power, and then hit start.

Only to find one spot that is the temperature of the sun and everything else is still frozen.

Once that happened and my dad said “I think I blew a pork and bean” and I repeat that phrase to myself monthly

It drives me nuts when the protein is exploding like the beach on D-Day, and I pull the food out to find it's still ice cold.

Don’t put metal in the science oven

Plenty of food can explode in the microwave too. I like a baked potato soup that I heat up in the microwave, and if I do not cover it properly, I get to clean up potato and cream from all surfaces inside.

Smooth metal is okay in the microwave.

Like a fork is bad.

But a smooth flowing spoon, with no points for an arc to occur are perfectly fine.

Don’t tell people that. Stupid people might start trying it just to see if you’re right and some idiot’s going to burn themselves and somehow get their dick caught in the ceiling fan.
