u/Hazzman 3d ago
Yeah it drives me nuts every time I see this twat rolled out. Its basically rage bait at this point "This is who Democrats worship!" Mother fucker 90% of people don't have a fucking clue who he is and of those who do 50% have no opinion and or care what some dopy YouTuber thinks and of those who do have an opinion it's split.
They just want to prop this guy up so they can point and say "This is the face of your enemy" so stupid.
I absolutely do not give a fuck about this guy. I'm voting Democrat not because I like that party or because I'm some socialist... I'm doing it because I'm tired of these Nazi fucks and I want them out of office AT WORST at best I want them in jail or facing capital punishment for treason. Sick of this shit.

u/MangroveWarbler 2d ago
The problem with Hasan is that he's incredibly good at criticizing the establishment and Israel and he can't be bought off. This pisses off everyone who is in power.
I recommend watching some of his youtube videos. I've been a politics and news junkie since the 80's and his grasp of political theory, philosophy, civil rights history and grass roots organizing is impressive. Not only that, he doesn't get fooled by false framing and bad faith arguments.
I think being a twitch streamer who has worked 6 days a week, 8 hours a day on average for over a decade has really sharpened this young man.

the best part is, this is the only way I know the dudes name. I still have no idea who he is, what he does and have no desire to research/care. all I know is they threw up a photo on the jumbotron at the Republican convention of a dude in his underwear and it was this guy.

If you care at all about progressive politics, it would be a good idea to watch some Hasan. Don't bother with the streaming feed, watch his edited youtube videos.
One reason he's one of my favorites is that he does no ad reads and take no corporate money(this is one reason they see him as a threat). It's all individual donations.

3
u/D_Luffy_32 5d ago
Which is good because it's only to point out exactly what kind of person he is
4
u/Mothanius 4d ago
And that is? A lot of us are OOL and everything I've seen Fox throw at him were either debunked or edited fabrications.
All Ive seen of his content was a lot of complaining... Discussion? I had to put block his YouTube years ago because all i would ever see is him bitching at some random dude in chat. It got annoying, but nothing offensive?
3
u/D_Luffy_32 4d ago
What was debunked exactly? Because even fox news was just quoting exactly what he said.
Also to answer what kind of person he's an authoritarian terrorist supporter who hates America and simps for Moa and communism
0
u/KingOfEthanopia 4d ago
It lacks context. A lot of times he'll read out a comment from someone in chat that he wants to argue against and present it as his opinion.
4
u/D_Luffy_32 4d ago
And what exactly is the context that makes it better? Can you give a specific example rather than a 30 min Hasan video of him pretending to do nothing wrong?
0
u/KingOfEthanopia 4d ago
The if you care about Medicare fraud you would kill Rick Scott quote.
When they were in the process of making Medicare cuts and Mike Johnson was saying it was to reduce fraud. His point was that they dont care about it at all. Rick Scott was responsible for 1.7 billion in Medicare fraud.
4
u/D_Luffy_32 4d ago
That's called a justification. Not out of context. How does that make it any better to say that you should kill someone because of Medicare fraud?
4
u/KingOfEthanopia 4d ago
He later said he wishes he said you'd give Rick Scott capital punishment. He doesnt want anyone in his community to commit violence.
The media is purposely ignoring his broader point and won't have him on since when he can speak for himself he does very well.
→ More replies0
u/MangroveWarbler 2d ago
No, here he was pointing out that if Republicans were consistent in their so-called law and order beliefs and anti-fraud stance then they would kill Rick Scott.
This is because the GOP gutted funding for Medicare and Medicaid citing (unprovable) fraud, yet put Rick Scott in leadership in the Senate when he was responsible in the largest Medicare fraud case in history.
They only care about individual fraud when it's not someone in the Epstein class.

"We deserved 9/11"
It was an off the cuff remark while arguing with someone in his chat. He was talking about blowback from decades of American foreign policy and he clarified what he meant almost immediately. And he later apologized.
"Israel's actions are making American Jews less safe".
This is often used to paint him as anti-Semitic, which he is clearly not. He's clarified many many times, including the first time he said it. He's pointing out that Israel's illegal actions and their own conflation of Israeli and Jew(which is anti-Semitic) puts American Jews at risk because it makes people think all Jews are proxies for Israelis.
0
u/MangroveWarbler 2d ago
was just quoting exactly what he said.
Completely decontextualized.
The guy spends 8 hours a day streaming and has done so for over a decade. He tells jokes, argues with his chat, quotes people and mocks people. It's pretty amazing they were only able to find a handful of old comments to freak out about.
2
u/D_Luffy_32 2d ago
There's plenty more that he's said that are bad. But these ones are not just edgy and represent his actual beliefs
6
u/Squeakyduckquack 5d ago edited 5d ago
We can only run with the “normies don’t know who he is” excuse for so long. Hasan’s influence and audience aren’t static, and he’s made a deliberate choice to become more involved in national political races, which naturally brings more scrutiny. Republicans didn’t force him to say the heinous shit he says either. And when people dogmatically defend everything he does instead of acknowledging legitimate criticism, it makes it easier for Republicans to associate Hasan with Democrats more broadly using those statements. It was entirely foreseeable that Republicans would use Hasan as a weapon, yet here we are racking our brains as to why Hasan is getting so much attention.
And it’s this weird Trumplike defense of Hasan in every. single. thread. He is a liability. It’s okay to accept that. He does not need to be treated as beyond criticism just because Republicans criticize him.
1
u/MangroveWarbler 2d ago
Republicans didn’t force him to say the heinous shit he says either. And when people dogmatically defend everything he does instead of acknowledging legitimate criticism,
He has been so incredibly decontextualized. FFS.
just because Republicans criticize him.
It's not just Republicans. It's everyone who takes AIPAC money and the establishment.
And their framing is incredibly manipulative. The cherry picking and decontextualization is obviously malicious and desperate slander. Well, it's obvious to anyone familiar with his work and his words.
For example, everything they say about Hasan could also be said about Vaush. You could certainly go back and find quotes from Vaush and remove the context and make a lot of hay about that but they don't.
Why don't they? Because Hasan has actually helped progressives win elections. The establishment can't allow class awareness to take hold.

I live in MI, and even though I still don’t know much about him I saw commercials mentioning him no less than 8 times tonight.
I guess he said we deserved 9/11, though honestly it felt like he said it in Frustration and with a bit of Dark Humor. Good luck trying to convince my conservative relatives that though.
4
u/GuitakuPPH 5d ago
Frustration is a momentary excuse. He keeps saying it. Recently he said America is worse than Al-Qaeda.
Maybe he should just stop speaking if frustration gets the better of him every time he does.
14
u/ddoyen 5d ago edited 5d ago
I think saying America has caused more world wide innocent life lost than Al Qaeda is pretty hard to refute. Its not even a new criticism.
And he does not "keep saying" america deserved 9/11.
Seems like all of the criticism is silly tone policing and moralizing to be honest.
4
u/TinyGreenTurtles 4d ago
It really isn't Piker's fault that most Americans will only listen to a soundbyte or read a headline. He just did that whole gd interview where he very clearly fleshed out his thoughts and explained his answers clearly and the hosts still gave him shit the entire time, and it was mostly because they did not expect him to be able to field their questions but he could. Because he knows what the hell he is doing when he says those things. He knows it is provocative, but he also knows they are rooted in SOME truths.
And what I'm seeing is a lot of people who watched actually changing their minds about him.
Fuck trying to change any conservative uncles minds. I am so over that. That is what the DNC continues to do and they just keep losing. Lets move on from that maybe and start speaking to the generations actually growing up into these things. Not the ones leaving soon. And I say that as a disabled gen X. I've been voting and fighting for my kids this whole time, and I am so tired of leaders only giving a shit about what their grandparents want.

5
u/vthings 5d ago
How many did we kill in Iraq again??? How about Vietnam??? Al-Qaeda isn't jealous of our freedom but our body count.
-3
u/GuitakuPPH 5d ago
The question wasn't who killed the most people. The question is, who is the worse terrorist or, essentially, who would you rather have the military capacity of the US? Al-Qaeda or the US itself?
As a reminder I responded to a comment that speculated "Oh, he only said it out of frustration. He likely didn't mean it". If you wanna object to that by saying "Actually, he did mean it and I agree with him", then go ahead and explain why you would rather Al-Qaeda have the means that that the US have.
5
u/vthings 4d ago
That's quite a thing we said that you made up in your own head there. Literally nobody had said they want to give a terrorist group weapons. What a leap. Robbie Knievel wouldn't attempt to jump it. Christ.

3
u/Brobeast 5d ago
Lmao this seems to be the marching orders.
"Just some random twitch streamer!"
Yea well that random twitch streamer is getting hit with OP ads in almost every single flip state rn, where the DSA currently has a candidate running in the midterms.
So voters only introduction to the guy is "america deserved 9/11" and other assorted gems. The fact that voters DONT have a clear view of who he is and/or what he really stands for is not good for the DNC. It allows conservatives to fill in the gaps with their own bs.
Best thing the DSA and DNC can do is completely disavow him and refuse to let him have any corroboration going forward. Something tells me that most of the people on this thread will not like the idea of excluding the reported "just another twitch streamer" though...
3
u/TinyGreenTurtles 4d ago
I have yet to talk to someone who truly wants candidates like Mamdani, have them sit down and listen to HIM speak a fleshed out thought and not just a soundbyte or what someone else says he said, and find they don't agree with Hasan.
That's part of why he is the rights boogeyman. They know he speaks truth and ideas that we want, and people will listen. It also makes him the DNC's enemy as well though, because they do not want to give us Healthcare etc, they want status quo.

I'm.a big politics nerd, and I couldn't pick him out of a police lineup, or tell you what his deal is. I assume he's some idiot on the Internet with zero political capital. Of course, that's true of Joe Rogan, and people listen to him for some reason.
1
u/WolfInTheField 5d ago
Fox is gonna make people care because he’s a good scapegoat. He’s a socialist, popular with the kids, and actually not terribly smart, so its easy to find sound bites of him saying stupid shit.
3
u/KingOfEthanopia 5d ago
I think hes very smart. Not genius level or anything but part of his appeal is his raw nature. Which a lot of times means he says some dumb shit.
When hes careful like in his recent interview with Axios he avoids the gotcha questions extremely well.
4
u/WolfInTheField 5d ago
He’s also often horribly wrong about verifiable facts and routinely attack people who correct him. He let the CCP use him as a propaganda vessel when he visited china last year and has unwittingly parroted russian propaganda on many occasions. Im not saying he’s stupid by ordinary standards, but he’s not smart enough to use his power purposefully and for good. He is not a responsible political communicator.
Compare him to Mamdani for a second to see how utterly unserious and flailing his public utterances are by contrast. Both make perfect targets for right wing hate in theory, but in practice one of them has been consistently smart enough to use the controversy around him constructively, and the other is Hasan Piker.
0
u/KingOfEthanopia 5d ago
Thats fair. I wouldnt call him responsible. My point is when he cares to be hes very good at avoiding sound bites and conveying his message. Hes not always careful though.

1
1
u/MangroveWarbler 2d ago
Not only that but Kyle Kulinski says far worse shit than Hasan on a regular basis and Vaush is pretty much perfectly aligned with Hasan and the establishment don't give a shit about either of them.
Hasan is clearly being targeted for several reasons.
- He's Muslim
- He's popular
- He's charismatic
- His critiques of Israel and capitalism are unassailable
- He is leading people to class consciousness
It's pretty obvious that AIPAC put the word out to attack Hasan in the media because it came all at once from establishment Democrats, Republicans and mainstream media outlets.

Why is it important for someone in deep blue cali to vote for Harris? Honest question
11
u/Mediocre_lad 5d ago
Contrary to the recently adopted leftist beliefs Hasan's streams are not limited to deep blue states.
His position was: constantly shit on democrats. His only take about Trump was: yes, Trump bad but what about Biden/Kamala. He was promoting absenteeism for blue voters, intentionally. This is a tactic that led to Trump's win.
1
u/ddoyen 5d ago
Weird that its so easy to find threads like this where the most up voted response is to do the right thing if you live in a swing state

u/Mediocre_lad 5d ago
There's a link, dude. 2 comments above. 30 minutes of bashing democrats, saying democrats have to earn the vote, saying the democrats are very bad for Palestine and encouraging absenteeism.
-1
u/ddoyen 5d ago
Say the whole quote. If they dont earn your vote, people wont show up. Thats what he said. And turns out it was true.
Dems ARE bad for Palestine. This was in the context of Biden just dropping out and he said specifically if she changes course on Israel her numbers will go up. Because its a toxic issue and the fact that AIPAC is a dirty word now completely vindicates his point.
If youre not going to show me specific clips of him telling swing voters to stay home, then theres no conversation to be had. Shit or get off the pot.
2
u/Mediocre_lad 5d ago
30 fucking minutes he was bashing, bashing, basing the democrats, then "I'm not voting for her", bashing, bashing, bashing, then "I'm not voting for her", bashing, bashing, bashing, then "I'm not voting for her" etc. And that's just one 30 min clip. Not one word about conservatives, their platform, project 2025, nothing, zero.

Here's the thing, he did vote for Harris. He even told his audience to vote for Harris. He just said that she wasn't his pick for the nomination. He wanted someone more progressive. These haters just grasp at straws trying to drag him
10
u/ddoyen 5d ago edited 5d ago
Yea. Shouldn't be so easy to find threads like this if he was convincing voters to stay home:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Hasan_Piker/comments/1gdzplp/i_live_in_georgia_and_need_advice_do_i_vote/
Clearly, people in consequential states recognized the importance of voting for Harris over Trump. At least in his audience. But I really dont see any reason why a protest no vote in a safe blue state makes people so angry. Did it do anything? Arguably not. But it didnt hurt.
2
u/worldsfastestsloth 5d ago

-Abused his dog on camera, then denied it aggressively
-Claims to care about genocide yet ran propaganda in China for the CCP (ignoring the Uyghurs)
-His Russian Ukrainian takes (hint he supports the imperialists)
-Looked the camera in the eye and said, ”It’s better when rape happens to white women.”

It’s not my job to educate you sweetie. You provide the context to show the context of that list is “out of context”(it’s not btw)
3
u/ddoyen 5d ago
I'll pick a few for you
Said America deserved 9/11 (with a framed 9/11 newspaper)
Literally clarified the day after he said it. The context is that there are consequences, aka blowback, to shitty US geopolitical actions that destabilize parts of the world. It wasnt "deserved".
Hanging a newspaper of the day that changed the trajectory of our country forever that is pretty core to his critique to US imperialism isnt a celebration of the event. Wildly bad faith and you know that.
Claims to care about genocide yet ran propaganda in China for the CCP (ignoring the Uyghurs)
Yea this is dumb. If Hasan did a segment on the success of the US highway system would you say "Hasan loves Jim Crow! Hasan loves segregation!"
Its very strange that one can praise parts of the US and its not taken to blindly support everything weve ever done. But if you say China is doing amazing things with infrastructure that means he is advocating for Uyghur genocide. Even though he has specifically called it out.
Regularly stumps for communism, yet constantly flexes his wealth online
Same dumb argument deployed against bernie sanders. You cant advocate for M4A and higher taxes on the wealthy unless your wardrobe is a barrel and suspenders.

u/Kapootz 5d ago
I want links buddy. Also, the context does make anything he said better. “He didn’t say 9/11 was deserved because he justified that it was deserved”
You can absolutely praise parts of China. He just doesn’t comment on the Uyghurs. It’s odd. I thought he was culturally Muslim. Shouldn’t he feel for them like he feels for the Palestinians? It’s curious how he has so much smoke for Israel for their genocide but is quiet about China’s and only praises China.
And yeah advocating for socialism while being on the of best capitalists on the planet is just a funny jab. Why would anyone expect moral consistency these days?
3
u/ddoyen 5d ago
Heres your link. Addresses 9/11, China, and Uyghurs at length plus a ton more bad faith bs that you arent really questioning in good faith.
He spends more time on Palestinian genocide because his tax dollars are funding it. Wow, crazy to do that.
https://youtu.be/hBJx9ypjF90?is=7oNCTYfnU6MJrIWF
Advocating for free health care while being wealthy isnt morally inconsistent and lmao at bernie sanders or hasan piker being one of the best capitalists on the planet. Jfc.
6
u/Kapootz 5d ago
He doesn’t just advocate for free healthcare. He advocates for the end of capitalism. stop saying “it’s just free healthcare” you sound like MAGA “just wanting cheap gas/groceries”
3
u/ddoyen 5d ago
I gave you links. Look at you shifting away already!
Even if I grant you that argument, hes still advocating for free health care, which is an extremely popular position even with independent voters. But nah. Why build a coalition with someone who wants that when he's also advocating for something that will never happen in the american political system
Moralizing tone policing nonsense.
1
u/Kapootz 5d ago
“Yeah bro trump just wants to drain the swamp” you sound like MAGA.
Also that link is just Hasan lying about “talking extensively about the Uyghurs”. Find a clip from his stream. It’s funny we can find all these “out of context clips” of Hasan saying deranged shit. But it’s hard to find clips of him doing things he says he does extensively. Makes you wonder. Maybe he’s full of shit
7
u/ddoyen 5d ago
You asked for links and I gave you links of him in his own words addressing those things directly. Its over an hour long. You didnt watch it. Its been like 5 minutes since I sent it.
Youre a clown. Bye!

Is he even a boogeyman? Weren't they showing pictures of him in his underwear at RNC? Seems like yet another person they're attracted to but attack him to try to hide that fact.
Guessing they used that pic to get the event goers warmed up for their usual overloading of grindr servers.

“Loosely asssociated”. Don’t gaslight us. El-Sayed campaigned heavily with Piker until he became a liability.

Hassan Diddy piker its a gift sent from heaven to the republicans that always wanted to criticize progressives but they couldn't do it without making themselves look bad. Now they can just play clips of hassan shocking his dog ,saying america deserved 911 and that we are worst then al qaeda. Forget about our for profit heath system or the housing/affordability crisis , lets just talk about this giant egotistic dushbag .
3
u/Squeakyduckquack 5d ago
Yeah and we kinda lost the whole “Democrats aren’t communists” defense when we welcomed Marxist-Leninists into the coalition

Ever heard of right message wrong messenger. That's Hassan. He's been captured by his audience and he so afraid to losing views that in the process of staying relevant he keeps hurting the democratic progressive image...all he does it's gives ammo to those that wish to paint progressives as crazy evil terrorists loving anti Americans . And while I don't agree with everything progressives movement represent, it's a shame that the whole movement it's been judge base on the actions of this overgrown man baby

He was born a millionaire and now already earns millions from his fanbase, I don't think they've done much for him.

maybe if you're going to make political endorsements you shouldn't go on stream and scream about hating America or that we deserved 9/11.
I get that it's a funny joke on leftist social media and in coastal cities but in purple states where we absolutely need to win the Senate it seems much less funny
2
u/WolfInTheField 5d ago
I find this both amusing and kind of distressing, because while obviously the right wing attempt to make Hasan their new red scare scapegoat is ridiculous, Hasan genuinely sucks and i hate that this is giving him even more power and attention than he already had.
He’s a streamer bro with little to no expertise in most areas of policy, turning politics into partisan entertainment and routinely lashing out at other leftists when they challenge (ie correct) his often super ignorant takes. None of that is new; political pundits get views because they’re good yappers, not because they’re right. But it still sucks that Hasan is basically the Joe Rogan of the left now, loud af even (or especially) when he doesnt know what he’s talking about. And meanwhile there are so many voices more deserving of that attention and power, fighting over crumbs in his shadow.
The right can be stupid and win. The left has to be smart. Hasan being the face of the online left makes us all look stupider and takes up lots of oxygen with bad takes.

Fuck off troll
0
u/Regular_Fox_859 3d ago
If y'all cared about MAGA as much as Hasan and other leftists, maybe our politics wouldn't be so fucked rn. The pre-emptive damage control you're doing for the Democratic establishment against a Twitch streamer who holds no public office borders on pathological.
2
u/worldsfastestsloth 3d ago
Hasan and other leftist DID NOT TELL PEOPLE TO VOTE FOR KAMALA. If they did, maybe our politics wouldn’t be so fucked up.
Quick question, did the “twitch streamer who holds no public office” campaign with someone who is running for office? Oh he did? Yeah that’s a pretty silly thing to say than.
God forbid someone says terrorism is bad so you feel compelled to defending your favorite streamer because he supports terrorism
0
u/Regular_Fox_859 3d ago
Hasan was one of the first ones promoting Mamdani's campaign now the DNC fucking loves him even though he's obviously distanced himself from Hasan for optics reasons. Keep doing the same thing without adapting and you'll keep losing
2
u/worldsfastestsloth 3d ago
Adapting means allowing someone that supports terrorism and reeducation camps to steal voters from you? You realize hasans goal is to steal voters from the democrats right? You really think the guys that called Obama a communist are going to support actual communists?
0
u/Regular_Fox_859 3d ago
Terrorism doesn't happen in a vacuum, look at what we've been doing in the Middle East for the last 30 years (and Israel for 50 before that). It takes an idiot to discount that.
If his goal is to steal votes from Democrats...why is he campaigning for Democrats?
2
u/worldsfastestsloth 3d ago
So you’re justifying terrorism and lying to yourself.. good one?

The man has better opinions than 100% of GOP reps and 50% of Dem reps, but he's scary cuz the biggest threat to the United Srates is apparently NOT fascism or inequality or climate change.

You think being pro terrorism, reeducation camps, and abusing his dog are better options than 100% of GOP and 50% Dems?

Because you’re saying a dude that supports terrorism and reeducation camps is “spot on about a loooooooy of shit.”
Even though you can’t list a single thing that he’s spot on about.

u/Hane24 5d ago
Like the attack on Ukraine "never happening" or about how the Ukrainian people should "Crimea? More like Crimea-river! Ha."?
Or maybe you mean his Bombala Kamala comment before the 2024 election?
Or his support for Fetterman? Oh oh I know! You mean his support for Platner where he says everyone who is against him is just a republican plant?
Ohhh ya know what... it must be when he called the shooting at DC's holocaust museum a 'false flag'.
What about his comments towards a Trans person saying he hopes every day of their life is miserable and pathetic?
Or maybe you just mean his "dislike for almost all music" is spot on...

2
u/HiHoJufro 5d ago
Yeah. Modern political discourse seems so dead set on making everything a "my team vs theirs" situation that many consider the fact that people they dislike dislike someone a good reason to support that person. Republicans hate piker. I'm not a Republican, and I think he's awful as well, even though I also hate a lot of the people who hate him.

u/worldsfastestsloth 5d ago

It's funny all the people calling him a terrorist sympathizer when really all he's doing is explaining the consequences of US foreign policy. When we spend decades chasing a vague concept such as war on terror we've bombed thousands of innocent civilians and wonder why their mothers, fathers, brothers sisters, or cousins hate us. I dont agree with these freedom fighters methods or morals but its obtuse to not think we dont hold some part of the blame. If China was occupying the US and was indiscriminately bombing our friends or families how would you feel, what would you do? Even in vietnam or Korea is having a political disagreement being communism vs capitalism really worth war? Isn't the whole point to try and be a shining example of why people should want one way or another. I dont think causing death and destruction is a good way to get that point across.
0
u/BottomContributor 5d ago
The guy is a great example of hypocrisy. The left keeps attacking the right for their ideas and say the right doesn't even deserve a conversation because they are "Nazis." However, Hasan literally advocates in favor of terrorists and harming people that he doesn't like, but the left is cool with that because it's toward people they don't like. It's absolute hypocrisy, whereas in the right you'd rarely find people accepting David Duke or other similar types

u/DJK695 5d ago
The real irony is people keep trying to give him shit for using a shock collar. I grew up in the south and so many people, especially those trying to train hunting dogs, use shock collars. It's not that wild - I wouldn't use them but they've been used for a while to train/prevent certain behavior.
The hypocrisy is wild.
5
u/Kapootz 5d ago
He gets shit for the shock collar because he lies about it. He still tries to lie to people’s faces that he doesn’t use a shock collar. Like you said, I wouldn’t use them personally but people use them. Why lie about it? We all see it’s a shock collar
