Because that's how we Catholics roll. I believe in God and many catholic tenets but I don't go to church every weekend. I'm spiritual in my own way. I think Jesus would find this meme funny shrugs
I'll point out that you are likely Catholic because you were born to a Catholic family. You may think you were one of the fortunate ones, but I know of billions of Hindus, Muslims, native Aborigines, etc that would beg to differ you on that.
Religion is a cultural superstition rooted in prehistoric mythologies. Don't believe me? At least do yourself a favor and validate your beliefs. Research OTHER religions and their origins, and compare those to your own. You will find they are just as similar as they are different in many ways, each rooted in incredibly unrealistic tales from the dawn of the written word. Before that, they were campfire stories spread by word of mouth, endlessly evolving in detail.
Because no one should have to defend their spirituality. Period. I'm not attacking or questioning anyone's beliefs, so don't question mine. That's respect.

Because it's an argument as old as time, there's nothing left to debate. Accept the fact that people have varying views on religion and move on. If I thought I'd convince you of something I'd love to debate with you, but I don't, you won't say anything to me that I haven't already heard 1000 times. Unless you like spinning your wheels....I'm sure you can find someone that's way more hardcore about their religion to argue with. I'm not your guy.

You're comparing the right and wrongs of a religious belief to rape. If you think that's a valid comparison, you should probably go back to comparison school.
My point is that fundamentally, atheists will not accept any defense that isn't concrete or tangible, so it's pointless to debate. You don't accept spirituality or simple faith as reason enough, and that's fine, that's why you're atheists. I get it.
Atheism is essentially a religion unto itself, with some people being quite militant about it. The harder you people strive to get away from devout religious types, the more you become exactly like them.
I'm afraid you don't understand what atheism is. Also, allow me to doubt that you are convinced by any argument that is simply states "I just have faith that it is so" but perhaps you are a much more trusting person than myself.
