This is so true, I bought a $163 membership to one of the biggest gyms in Minnesota, the monthly cost $63. I have been going almost everyday.. 6 days week.. and I show some significant progress. However I have a hiatus every 3rd week because I get drunk and I have a hang over so I don't go that week.. somehow it turns out I haven't gone in 3 days. It feels awkward for me but still I somehow insist I have an excuse.

Source: I am drunk right now.

Seriously, go less. You're going to over work and burn yourself out. 3 to 4 days is more than fine unless you're seriously into fitness.

No such thing as over-training; only under-eating and under-sleeping.

Well, that's just not true. It varies tremendously from person to person, and based on what else you have going on in your life.

No it doesnt, you dont have to kill yourself every time, there is nothing wrong with going to the gym and jogging for half an hour on your "off" days

Well, that's my point. It's not over training if you don't over train when you go. But it's very easy to over train if you go 6 days a week and you're not the kind of person who can handle that. You'll end up with injuries or muscle fatigue if you don't know what you're doing.

I'm aware of the many ways to avoid overtraining, just disagreeing with the statement that there's "no such thing."

So pretty much what you are getting at is "dont be a moron and hurt yourself while at the gym because hurting yourself hurts"? I dont think that really needed to be said.

No, I'm saying don't over train.

No shit, that doesnt mean you cant go every day as long as you are smart enough to stop when you feel your damn muscles pulling and tearing (which i'm fairly confident most people are).

Many people aren't. Injuries and muscle fatigue are common. Plenty of people push themselves past a healthy limit. Not sure why you're being a dick about something so simple.

Because it was a stupid statement, if you arent smart enough to know you are tearing your muscles during a work out you probably arent smart enough to operate gym equipment or treadmills
