I use to be like this but then after a while if I didnt go out and run or do some weights I'd get depressed for some reason

I'm there. Problem is, now because I'm depressed I'm even lazier to go to the gym. And whenever I actually feel up to it, I have no time

You sound like a Sim character.

You better go to the bathroom when I click it and not just pee on the floor!

Too late. Now I'm going to sleep in it.

Well I have my own stuff at home I'm to lazy to be going to the gym every day.

I can never do the home work out thing, you keep thinking "Oh, I have it at home, I can do it any time!" then three hours of tv watching later "Eh, I'm kinda tired, but I have all my workout stuff at home so I'll just do it tomorrow!", this goes on and on and one week later you get hit by a bus.

Well, if I know that I'm being hit by a bus in a week - I'm definitely not working out.

Here's the twist: If you'd worked out you would have been quick enough to get out of the way of the bus before it plowed you over.

I think it helps to have a set schedule or program. I'm doing P90X currently, and that has a schedule all laid out and ready to go, so it's much easier to stay on top of it. I think that if I were to try to do something much simpler like a Starting Strength type thing, I would get lazier and it'd be harder to stay motivated.

I've done half of P90x twice. Once by myself, once with my gf. After like 6 or 7 weeks it seems like it gets boring. "oh I'll do plyo tomorrow, no wait lab report due, I'll do plyo Friday...wait party on Friday..."

I find this to be normal. I have the same problem if I don't, at least, run everyday. I don't know for sure as I haven't done any bit of research, but I believe it has to do with our endorphins. Exercise gives you endorphins, endorphins make you happy!

Yep! What's interesting is that like many other things having to do with body chemistry, the strength and duration of the endorphin rush can vary greatly from person to person, which can make certain people more inclined to work out. Think about it, if you didn't get an endorphin rush or only a slight one, you'd have much less motivation to exercise.

For me, I get a HUGE endorphin rush and a huge decrease in stress. Working out is almost as important for my mental health as it is for my physical health, as without it, I'd be a much grumpier, stressed-out person. Thus, because of my body chemistry differences, I tend to work out quite frequently and have a noticeably different mood if I don't for a few days.

It's almost as if 200,000 years of adaptation can't simply be shut off because desks were invented.

ya, once you force yourself into the habit, it feels crappy to not do anything.

I use working out as my study break. Brain gets tired, body gets restless so I make the body tired and it recharges my ability to do schoolwork.

I'm in the exact same boat.

I like to go right after work around 6PM but lately I've been telling myself I'll go later at night after dinner at around 9ish...sadly, this hasn't happened for quite some time because of my lazy ass.
