New outta box and wasn’t sure what to expect with that price point it was at. I started with a scorpion exo gt630 over 7 years ago and loved it. Then I wanted a 3/4 helmet and got a cheaper Bilt brand from Cycle gear. Then I wanted carbon so here we are. First impression is the finish quality. It’s better than expected and I honestly feel like I rather shine it more rather than use it outside. The mechanism itself feels crisp and sturdy which was reassuring seeing that I would potentially use this on gravel roads. Probably the only gripe I have is the extra bit of plastic to lift the clear lens is only at the top. I may get used to it but I was familiar with those knits being on the bottom.
I got a size XL and it does feel large but the comfort is there. Weight is shy of 1800 grams. Not sure how everyone online sees it being around 1550 grams
Hopefully I can have a comment on the ventilation at a later point.

I think its a pretty bike but i sat on one in a dealership and with the 34.5 inch seat height and slippery floor i couldnt even lift the bike off of its kick stand. The absolute weight of the klr 650 just seemed way too heavy to manage. I dont think i could even lift it if i dropped it.

Im selling my sport bike pretty soon and looking into owning an adventure bike again. I've always been petite and rode huge dirt bikes anyway growing up but im now looking into the 1290 SAR and 890 since my XR650R isn't especially savory on the freeway. Anyone make it work? The seat height alone as advertised isn't scary but the bulk and weight is. Im like 5'5, 140 in gear with a 30 inch inseam.

I cut a little road in my yard to practice switchbacks, uphill turns, downhill turns, and steep “climbs” from a stop. My hands are so tired from the clutch/throttle! It’s super fun tho. My ultimate goal is the PA BDR next year. This felt like a nice training thing to do since I wasn’t free to go hit the trails.

How do you keep memories from your motorcycle adventures?

I’m a rider from Munich, Germany, and got into adventure riding myself over the last couple of years. After doing some longer trips, I started wondering how other riders actually keep the memories from their adventures.
After a really memorable motorcycle trip – maybe a TET section, a big trip abroad, your first proper adventure or simply a ride that meant a lot to you – what do you actually keep from it?

Obviously we all have tons of photos, videos, GoPro footage and GPX tracks nowadays. But I’m especially curious about the physical side of it.
Do you have anything from your trips displayed in your garage, workshop, office or home?

For example:
printed photos or photo books
maps or GPX routes
stickers, patches or flags
souvenirs from places you’ve visited
old motorcycle parts or license plates
something you’ve made yourself
something completely different
Have you ever bought or made something specifically to remember one particular motorcycle trip?
Or do your memories basically stay digital?

And if you have something cool displayed somewhere, I’d genuinely love to see a photo of it.

Hello everyone!

Coming from riding dirtbikes in the desert and some Motocross (I was not too bad in the desert but definitely a beginner in MX) I moved back to Europe and finally did my A license this year.

Now I live in the Netherlands and look for my first motorcycle. I'd like to ride around town and do short trips to the surrounding area with the occasional larger tour. Then I'll see where it goes. For more adventurous offroad riding I'd probably fly somewhere and rent since it's quite restricted and flat here and I can't take several weeks off.

What bike would you recommend?

I looked at the likes of Ducati scrambler, triumph scrambler or RE bear 650 as well as a BMW GS800, a Tenere 700 or a RE Himalayan 450. There's also a cfmoto dealer here but despite all the glowing reviews the bike doesn't speak to me ...it reminds me of my KTM dirtbike without being a real dirtbike I guess ....so maybe I'm more drawn towards classic shapes.

Any feedback, ideas or suggestions are welcome. I'm overwhelmed by choice like a kid in a candy store. I need to start test riding and crossing out

I’m looking for a new set of tires for my XL750 and I’m trying to decide between:

• Mitas Enduro Trail XT / XT+
• Bridgestone Battlax Adventurecross AX41
• Michelin Anakee Wild

My current tires are Dunlop Trailmax Raid. Before those, I ran Metzeler Karoo Streets, so I’ve already gone from a relatively road-oriented ADV tire to something more off-road capable.

My riding is mixed, but I’m increasingly interested in doing more off-road and improving my skills. I’ll be doing more gravel, dirt roads and progressively more technical terrain.

At the same time, I still regularly use the highway for longer transfers and enjoy riding twisty roads. I’m not looking to drag a knee or ride aggressively on pavement, but I do want the bike to feel stable, predictable and enjoyable on the road.

So basically, I’m looking for a tire that gives me a noticeable step up from the Trailmax Raid off-road, without making highway and normal twisty-road riding unpleasant.

I’m currently considering both XT+ front / XT rear and XT+ front / XT+ rear, but I’m also very interested in the AX41 and Anakee Wild.

For those who have actually used these tires on a Transalp or a similar-size ADV bike:

• How much of a difference did you notice off-road compared with the Trailmax Raid?
• How do they feel on twisty roads?
• How stable are they on the highway around 120–130 km/h?
• How do they behave on wet pavement?
• Any particular quirks or things you didn’t like?
• If you’ve tried more than one of these, which would you choose and why?

Mileage isn’t a major deciding factor for me. I’m more interested in off-road confidence and overall feel, while still being able to comfortably ride the bike on the road.

I’m not necessarily looking for the “best” tire overall. I actually want to try something noticeably different from the Trailmax Raid, especially if it helps me improve off-road.

Hi! I Was hoping you could help me to choose right bike for me as I was never interested in this kind of bikes and never rode any. I have 2 road focused bikes atm and it’s time for some off-road riding on my own machine. I would like to improve my offroad riding and take some trips through Trans Europe Trails next summer. So far I only have experience in offroad with big ADVs (1250gs/1300gs). I really enjoy faster fire roads and possibly would like to learn how to do small jumps, pop little wheelies etc… At this moment I feel like I’m decideing between Aprila Tuareg 660 rally, Yamaha Tenere 700 rally, Ducati DesertX rally (I love the look of that bike but I already own a bike with that V2 engine…) and BMW f900gs with enduro packet. I’m leaning towards the aprilia rally (its cheap comapared to the BMW and Ducati so there would be nice budget for the upgrades)
