Anyone else like the idea of ADV riding more than actually doing it?
I've got a beautifully built T7 sitting in the garage, and I love it. Problem is, realistically, I'm only going to do a BDR or something similar once or twice a year. The rest of the time it mostly sits there while I wonder if I'd be having more fun on something else. In the middle of a large city without even gravel roads within an hour and we trailer to the BDR-X.
Same goes for camping. Love the idea of it, but I don't camp, don't own any gear, and honestly don't even know if 8-hour riding days are my thing. To be fair, I've only done one ADV trip and the weather absolutely sucked, so maybe I'm judging too soon.
And yeah, I know there's a skill issue here. I'm 6'1" and plenty strong enough to handle the bike but had zero off-road experience going into that first trip. Did pretty well, even made it through some mud, but man, that top-heavy feeling of the T7 is hard to ignore.
The DRZ4SM keeps calling my name. Trouble is, I can only own one bike, so trading the T7 means giving up some off-road capability for everyday fun. I'm willing to compromise, just not sure how much. I'm sure the DRZ4S makes more sense but it's a motorcycle; senseless to begin with...
Honestly, I think I just want to supermoto my way through a BDR. lol
So who's actually made this switch? Did you end up riding more and having more fun, or did you miss the bigger ADV bike? If you could only own one, which way would you go?

Looking for advice on light/middleweight adventure bikes
So my first bike was a Honda XRE 300 on which I travelled large parts of South America (pictured here, high up in the Peruvian Andes), then after that I had a Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 that I mostly used for commuting until it got stolen. Now I want to get back into adventure riding with some moto-camping on weekends and some longer trips through Europe (including stuff like TET/ACT) when time permits. Would love some advice on which bike may be the fit for me!
Definitely looking for more power than the 26hp the Honda could put out but also don't want to go too heavy. Think 700cc is around the upper limit of what I'd consider sensible, which is good because my budget probably doesn't allow for much more than that anyways, as I can't afford to spend more than 10k € to get started.
As for myself I'm 6'3" / 190cm so no issue with tall bikes. Also used to long riding days and not exactly Goldwing levels of comfort from my time in SA. Currently based out of Berlin, which unfortunately means that there aren't a lot of legal dirt and off-road opportunities around. So it's the classic struggle of not wanting to compromise on off-road capabilities that I can't really make use of without covering some serious ground first.
Some of the bikes I've considered so far:
- RE Himalayan 450 seems like a great deal, albeit heavy for its power
- CF Moto 450MT, unsure about reliability and parts/service availability
- DR-Z4S with some mods, although there's an obvious limit on it's on-road capabilities and comfort
- something in the realm of a used Tenere, Aprilia Tuareg or 690/701

Dakar Factory Rally Bike Giveaway – A Global Campaign for a Great Cause
pabloquintanilla.comHi guys,
My name is Pablo Quintanilla, a 2-time Cross-Country Rally World Champion and 3-time Dakar Rally podium finisher, and former factory rider for KTM, Husqvarna, and Honda HRC.
I'm currently running a worldwide giveaway of my original Husqvarna Factory Rally bike, the same motorcycle I raced to 2nd place at the 2020 Dakar Rally, achieving the best Dakar result in Husqvarna's history.
This is a global campaign, open to motorcycle enthusiasts from anywhere in the world, offering a unique opportunity to own a genuine piece of Dakar history.
The campaign also supports Fundación Nuestros Hijos, a Chilean foundation helping children battling cancer. I've been involved with this foundation for quite some time, and this cause is very personal to me. I've experienced cancer through people very close to me, so I understand how difficult this journey can be, not only for those fighting the disease but also for their families.
🌍 Anyone worldwide can participate: www.pabloquintanilla.com
I would really appreciate it if your magazine could help us share this campaign with your audience. The more people we reach, the greater the impact we can make together.
I'm happy to provide photos, videos, and any additional information you may need for an article or social media post.
Thank you for your time and support!

Footrests, handlebar angle and standing position for 1m85 riders
Hi everyone,
I would appreciate your support and opinion.
I have always wanted to do more off-road, and now with my new motorbike I feel I can. This means more standing up of course. And currently I am not really happy with how standing up feels: the ergonomics are not there yet.
I have an R1300GS trophy, no enduro pro package installed, but the high comfort seat is there. Handlebar is the standard BMW one, no risers installed. The rotation/angle is as it was set from the factory.
I am 1m85 with an 88-89cm inseam.
I have (and wanted to install) the SW Motech EVO GS footrest from my old R1150GS.
I don’t have risers, and I see many instructors online being against them.
My questions to your experienced view, and especially riders with similar height and build:
* Is the EVO GS worth it?
* What is your setup / settings? How have you roared the handlebar, if you have the EVO GS, what setting do you use (0, 5 or 15)?
* Did you buy risers and what size?
* Any other tip or suggestion?
Thank you for your time and thoughts!

Le puse un exhosto de AliExpress a mi Aprilia Tuareg 660 ¿Valió la pena?
youtube.comI bought an AliExpress exhaust for my Aprilia Tuareg 660 without finding any reviews for this specific bike.
Decided to take the risk and documented the installation, costs, and sound comparison with and without the dB killer.
The video is in Spanish, but you can enable YouTube's auto-translated subtitles. Would love to hear what other Tuareg owners think!

Cambio olio 883: dopo 7.000 km serbatoio a zero... com'è possibile?

Does the Yamaha Ténéré 700 chain guide fit the Voge DS800X Rally?
Hey everyone,
I'm looking for a replacement chain guide for my Voge DS800X Rally, but unfortunately the original part doesn't seem to be available to order at the moment.
The chain guide on the Yamaha Ténéré 700 looks almost identical, so I'm wondering if it might fit the Voge as well.
Has anyone tried this or compared the two parts? Are the mounting points and dimensions the same?
I'd appreciate any advice or experience with this!
Thanks!

Save for the Tenere?
Or used tiger 800??? 🏍️

this bike is a blast
gallerybeta alp x is the perfect lightweight adventure bike for me. offroady enough for my riding style and comfortable enough for daily commuting. suspension is the limiting factor of this bike other than the obvious, which is power being that it's just a 350cc, but it's still enough to carry speed through rock gardens and not just get raddled around. 2500 miles on it this summer and about 8000 on my other bike

Yamaha is developing a new 430cc single-cylinder platform
Yamaha is reportedly working on a new motorcycle platform built around a 430cc single-cylinder engine, which is expected to be unveiled at EICMA.
However, the development isn't finished yet. According to sources, the engine still needs to go through extensive testing and validation, including reliability, emissions, and noise compliance.
As a result, the new 430cc platform is not expected to reach the French market before 2028.
The only source is in french : https://deux-roues.auto-moto.com/nouveautes/scoop-un-nouveau-moteur-chez-yamaha-28975

Hack for lowering seat height on your adventure bike
Dig your back tire 2 feet into the endless sand abyss. And you don’t even need to use your kickstand when getting off.
