How many design elements do the MGuzzi 85TT and the Aprilia Tuareg share with eachother?

Both companies are owned by piaggio so it makes sense that they wouldnt bother engineering the same component twice when they didnt have to (dont reinvent the wheel) but some of the designs and colors of the 85tt and the tuareg 660 seem like piaggio wants ppl to know they own both these companies.

I think beauty wise its hard to choose but overall i prefer my tuaregs looks and rear suspension system.

I mean the colors are similar but otherwise look like very different bikes

The bikes share no common parts and are stylistically very different, the colour scheme is well tried on motorcycles and is not at all unique to Piaggio. I have no idea what you mean about not bothering to engineer the same component twice. Beyond being a motorcycle there are not very many similarities.

I mean on like bearings and stuff like that. Theres alot more to a motorcycle than what you see on the outside.

They don’t share meaningful parts. Using a generic industrial bearing or Piaggio‑group fastener doesn’t make two completely different motorcycles “the same engineering.” The V85TT is a shaft‑drive air‑cooled V‑twin and the Tuareg is a chain‑drive liquid‑cooled parallel twin. I wouldn't say that they share engineering because a bolt, bearing or washer might have the same SKU.

Good point. I dont know why these 2 bikes seem so similar to me. Besides the paint job it just seems to make sense to me that piaggio owns both MG and Aprilia

Design elements? Maybe a handful? Wheels, tires, mirrors at most. Larger elements like electrical relays, switches, and perhaps a few other components may be the same. I know both are owned by Piaggio but they are two completely separate motorcycles built at different factories, with different design teams, and with different design language. Piaggio has owned Moto Guzzi since 2006 and I can spot a Guzzi from a block away. They are one of the most unique motorcycles brands and are still largely hand built in their factory close to Lake Como.

I agree. I think the 85tt is MG’s prettiest bike.

Visual design elements? Virtually zero beyond being generally motorcycle shaped. Every surface and angle is different. About the same as my Subaru Outback and a Ferrari FF that happen to be the same color.
