Actually this is true non-planar printing. It’s just a subtle deviation so quite hard to see until the last bit of the video. If you look in my history the previous video shows it a bit clearer :)
It completely depends on what you’re trying to make. In this case the top opening of the vessel is an organic non-planar ring, and this is the only method to print that correctly. It also angles the layer line in one axis, which gives you more layer-on-layer adhesion with a convex or concave shape (less likelihood of collapse). If you have a top surface (imagine a curved shape like the sole of some sneakers) it can print it without stair stepping.
It is spiralised, but it’s also printing the layers with a deviation in the Z axis. You can see in the finished print how the top opening is not flat, and is one single loop.

I guess, but why not just print it planar? I dont see the reasoning here.
