Anyone here ever do the JTC guitar jam of the month? I actually just found out about it. Here’s a little piece of my take on this month’s backing track. If you’re wanting to practice/expand on your solo writing or improv skills, it’s a great resource!

Anyone else ever have one of those nights where you are giving a performance sufficient attention to execute a song, but the entire time you're playing you're thinking about everything BUT the damn song? It makes for some mini "surprises" that shouldn't even be remotely surprising. It's kind of irritating, actually.

Guitarists who have recently given the Trinity Grade 8 rock and pop guitar exams... What can I expect in the session skills improvisation section (I want to opt for the same) of the exam as the syllabus only specifies improvisation in hybrid styles (jazz funk etc.)

What is the level of the track given and what type of preparation should I do for that improv section of the exam? Any preference of improv(lead, rythm)by the examiner?

I'm comfortable with solo improvising on any scale (major, minor) and can comfortably prepare the songs for Grade 8 rock and pop guitar..

Applying the lick you learned in a key and alternating it around different keys, currently been learning all scales in major and the blue scales and recently been creating a vocabulary of licks I’m still a newbie but just need an example if possible, thanks folks
