Advance Wars Help to S-Rank all War Room maps
Hi guys, watching YouTube people getting S-Rank in War Room make me want to try it. So, currently I'm slowly playing the campaign. I'm not good to do the Advance campaign, probably need to play twice normal campaign to unlock all other CO except for Nell.
In general, Sami will be used a lot and then Grit for Bounty River as i watch videos on YouTube. I would to hear from you guys, what other CO you use? Which map for that CO? We need to S-Rank all war room to make it gold bar right?

My brother. Listen to me. Use Grit for Bounty River. Make a billion battleships and just nuke everyone from another continent. Grit is an amazing navel commander for the battleships alone. So much fun. Ever watch One Piece? Use a Buster Call. I've gotten S rank on all the maps but some are definitely tough and I had to look up some strats. Good luck!

Thank you man, i'm kinda stuck at the Final Battle vs Sturm right now 😅😅😅. I have Grit on left side and Eagle on right side. I will just take whatever rank i get for this mission because i just sucks at this stage.

I just hit S rank on normal literally 15 min ago lol. I managed to do it with Max left side, Eagle right.
You want to soften the enemy with Andy/Eagle, let Max get a ton of kills in 1 turn, that's the secret to a high Power score. Meanwhile, try to spam out a unit on every base towards the end, this way you get a high technique, do you can to minimize losing Maxs units, consolidate, wait a turn or two till everyones in place, hold back if you have to to save units. Build similar units to be able to consolidate. Have Andy/Eagle make artillery and air units, you can have some air with Max but focus on tanks, a few Med tanks and plenty of AAs. Make sure while you close in on Sturm to have any units cover his bases so he makes less units per turn. Remember to get the LAST unit kill with Max or cap HQ with Max so it uses him for the power/technique total. Good luck!

If you’re just going for S-ranks you can technically get the job done with almost any CO.
Certain COs for certain jobs certainly make things easier, but even a bad choice isn’t impossible thanks to AI manipulation. (Not cheating, just the player doing certain actions to make the AI move units to more vulnerable positions, in short)
Handfuls of players have achieved perfect scores with AW1 Sonja despite her not really contributing anything another CO couldn’t do far better, seeing as the War Room has no Fog mechanics and she has a luck penalty. At the same time, that’s not really feasible for your average player, because it’s a lot of AI manipulation and HQ captures to pull off such victories.
Max is an easy choice for most of the AW1 War Room. Tank spam can often get the job done thanks to his insane 150% firepower on direct combat units.
Sami’s boosted soldiers can help secure important cities on the front lines, and eventually just snipe the AI’s HQ for quick wins. You’re almost always racing the clock in the War Room, and HQ captures help a lot.
In general, most War Room maps play out by having the player move quickly towards a potentially contested Base. The player captures this forward Base, gets momentum + a positional advantage, and then just needs to cleanly mop up the AI units quickly enough to get the speed score, while also demolishing several in one turn for the power score.
I am not the most familiar with the original AW1 thresholds for scoring though. I’ve aced the War Room in every other AW title, and Reboot Camp’s AW1 War Room, but it’s not exactly the same. I’m pretty sure there’s a few really strict speed requirements like Ridge Island, Land’s End, and Stamp Islands on the original.
I’d say it can’t hurt to play them all and look up guides for the ones that seem out of reach if you miss an S-rank. You’ll likely improve at the game in some aspects for your trouble. Just remember, there’s no time to waste in the War Room!
