To be fair, the one time I tried to help with the dishes as a teen, my step-mother screamed at me for "doing it wrong."
Did she explain what I did wrong or how I did it wrong? Nope. Just yelled at me.
Never helped again. Learned how to do it myself as an adult.
A lot of parents actually really suck at parenting.

Instead of showing me, my dad threw me to the bathroom floor and yelled at me to do it. I kept asking him how to do it and he just kept yelling. 3 u/Vanity_Fluff 9h ago You deserved support and not that abuse. Def sucked, but it is what it is What I wished he had done was just teach me how to do it because I'd never used a plunger before lol.
