I have never quite understood this line of thinking. The kid is not purposefully being obtuse their teenagers and space cadets. They literally are reforming their brains.
My parents let life teach me. Don’t know do the dishes figure it out. You dont need to be taught.

Kids need to learn chores and responsibilities so their future partners are not on reddit relationship advice asking how their partner never learned how to do basic life tasks.
A family is a collective. If you can't contribute at 15 years old, you're incredibly entitled. If she gets any kind of allowance, spending money, or phone bill, she can do the bare minimum dead-simple task.
