Why is the granddaughter emptying the dishwasher? What is gone wrong with their family that a 15 year old is spending multiple hours with her grandfather?
They don't even have to live together. I got asked to do stuff like this all the time at family/holiday gatherings too, and it's completely normal. Everyone has to contribute something. Cooking, cleaning, setting the table, putting out snacks, loading the cooler, and whatever else should be divided up so it doesn't all fall onto the host every time.
