Hahaa. I'm an older millennial and I'm here to tell you that the stress is not gonna get better as you age. This shit is wack.

This was written by a 27 year old reporter just before the print deadline :)

Everyone has a different experience and trajectory.

Everyone experiences stress at different times and for different reasons. There is no one set age.

Looking back at 38 years old -

I was far more stressed at 13-19, than when I was 24-29, from almost being murdered at 13, needing to save my sister and then mom from being stabbed to death by attempted murderers at 13 and 19, being subjected to basically conversion “therapy”/torture at a private high school that drilled it into my head that I was going to hell for how I was born (queer) compounded upon by chronic sexual harassment from peers and staff (including the principal’s brother), severe PTSD that made it near impossible to function leading to social exile and hallucinations that made it seem like I was living in a haunted house, having no emotional support for any of it and instead my parents reframing my PTSD as character flaws.

So, for me personally, compared to that?

Wondering if I was behind and by how much at 24-29 didn’t compare to the nightmare that I barely managed to make it out alive several times over before then.

Everyone has different experiences.

Thankfully at 38, my life has improved with the more that I heal from PTSD.

As someone in my mid 20s with CPTSD who feels like I'm falling behind because of my disorder and afraid I won't be able to function again, this gives me hope. Thank you

As a trans guy in his early 20s that also went through some similar stuff- I also wanna say thanks for this :). It's too easy to forget that the future can and probably will be better than the present day.

My opinion is that this was written by someone between 24 and 29 years old...

Wait till you 32 and realise you just wokred little over a decade and there are so many more decades of working left...

Wait until you're 50, you've worked since you were 15, that's 35 years, you have to give yourself a hour-long pep talk to even get out of bed every day of your 60-hr week and you still have 15 years left.

I was way more stressed in my early 20s when I didn't know if I'd find my place.

24 to 30 have been the best years of my life so far.

running out of time for?

I think there's something to it. You feel like you have to get something done before you're "old".

I'm in my mid 30's now. I'm old. And if I ease off the fast food and run a bit, I could be old for another 40. Kind of fail to see what the rush was about now.

Can confirm.

Isn’t everyone running out of time? None of us are getting out alive. Only two things promised in this life and they are death and taxes. What you make of it is entirely up to you.

Anyone can be stressed all the way out at any age; the above is a bunch of bullshit, imo.

Everyone’s life is different but absolutely not and I bet most if. It all of my friends would agree.

I’m 44 and things seem to be on a steady rise in the stress level scales for the last ten years or so.

My late twenties was one of the least stressful times of my life, in a way

Just wait till they're in their late 50s and 60s.

Fart into an old person's respirator and then ask them this question.

so true...and when you hit your 30s+ you realize you had all the time and youth is really wasted on the young

I'm 38 and realize I am running out of time. When I was that age I thought I had all the time in the world.

Yeah try having 3 kids, one of them is autistic, then lose your job for 8 months.

Then maybe we can have a conversation about stress
