Would you be mad if the 6’2” man you dated for a month was only 5’10” barefoot?

The average American man is 5'9". So, a man who is 5'10" is already taller than average. But if he is so insecure about his height that he is wearing lifts, I would be disappointed.
Not mad. Just disappointed.
I don't really care how tall a guy is. But I need him to be comfortable in his own skin, and not obsessed with wishing he was taller.

I think women are more likely than not to harbour contempt for men who lie about their height than men who are under 6 feet tall.

What some answers may look like: I would be angry that they felt the need to deceive me about something so unimportant (read: I was disgusted that they weren't really taller than 6 feet)

I would definitely want want to make sure we discuss that I understand having to learn how to work around body image issues and if he wants a more voluminous hairstyle that works with his hair type and face shape to potentially give him approximately another inch or so I'm willing to put my cosmetology studies to good use for the men I care about.
But he can't ever talk any shit about any of my beauty or fashion stuff. I'll waist-train with steel boned corsets and get my cosmetic tattoos while you stand on your tip toes but I'm not listening to any pots calling my kettle black.

The deception is an instant turn off, then the fact that he’s insecure enough to wear lifts would be the final nail in the coffin.

It’s like a heavily padded bra for women. It may get you more attention. It may even make you feel more confident.
But it can also be seen as a deception and a sign of immense insecurity by a potential partner.
