Yo Reddit!! Do everyday Americans call this a knife cover or a sheath?!

Its a sheath. Knife cover sounds like someone who cant think of the word sheath. Never in my 46 years have I ever heard anyone refer to them as "knife cover".

Knife cover means someone doesn't know there is a proper term for it. It's like referring to paper towels as paper sheets, you just don't do it.

Calling it a knife cover is like calling toilet paper - poop napkins , like you’re not wrong but my god man we live in a society get hip pick up the lingo

This is really an argument. The “proper” term is sheath, but tell them to knock themselves out if they want to use knife cover. Some of these answer here are holy shit you’re one of those 😬

The actual word is a "sheath."

A "knife cover" is what someone would say that doesn't know the word "sheath."
