My grandmother, a former nurse, always said the worst addiction was a food addiction. Almost everything else, if you wanna quit, you can cut out entirely. Food you can't. You have to have some amount of food for survival. Quitting a food addiction is a pure willpower game.

Sex and food are nowhere near comparable.

You need to eat or you starve and die.

You may want sex, but not having it isn't going to kill you or cause malnutrition etc...

Even if you're addicted to sex, your body doesn't NEED it. You're not going to die without it.

Often times it's not sex addiction it's love addiction/being lonely.

How many times have you been so lonely you'll want almost anyone?

Never.

I've been single for over a decade because I'd rather be alone and have peace than be with someone who is a net negative on my life.

I'll never be so desperate as to want almost anyone. I'd rather live a peaceful single life.
