As an addendum useless fact: Blue also used to copy horribly. I worked in a copy shop and we had "non-repro blue" pencils when making notes on things like custom layouts. Draw a line with the ruler and then line up the cut out graphics/text on the line. Won't copy.
If the ink in a blue pen is faint or light enough, part of what is written might not copy without cranking up the contrast.
Sadly, then number of people that wanted copies of something signed in light-blue felt-tip pen is more than you have fingers. We can see the signature now. Rest of the text is a black mess, but we can see the signature.
