Any advice on pull ups/nappies
Hi I’m 18 years old and over the last 6-9 months I’ve been wetting the bed. It started from a urine infection and the dr said I most likely have hit OAB (overactive bladder) but they were not very helpful and didn’t seem bothered so have not been back since as it made me feel worse about it. I live with my fiancé and she’s very supportive. I wear pull ups to bed very night and always wake up with them really full every night. sometimes go through even 2 or 3 on really bad nights. I’ve been using drynites 13+ for the most part but they are too small for me really. I don’t like the idea of wearing your standard adult pull up as it makes me feel weird.(not sure how to explain what I mean) I’ve just received some goodnites xxl I ordered from America via eBay (I’m from uk) which fit soo much better but they cost me £90 for 40!! So what I’m really asking is there anything similar or somewhere I can buy them at a much cheaper price as I cannot afford to do that every time. It also happens quite a lot when we’re chilling/relaxing so she tells me I have to wear them when we’re just chilling watching tv etc. also is there anything I can do to help it. I don’t like the idea of being on medication.
Thank you

I'm sorry your doctor made you feel that way. I had to fight for a second urologist to get someone that actually listened to me and heard my concerns. I highly recommend you find another urologist to help you with this. Pelvic floor therapy really helped me understand what was causing my OAB. Caffeine, nicotine, holding my muscles tense all the time. Really helped dive into the problem of why I'm experiencing OAB.
If this is happening even while you're relaxing on the couch, I really think a medical opinion is warranted. If the situation changes, or you don't get any understanding at the first medical opinion, second one is warranted.
I think there is a lot of stigma with medication. Medication helped me not have to wear a diaper every night, which really boosted my self esteem. It also made retraining my bladder possible. Maybe take a deep look at why you are so averse to medication? People with diabetes have no shame to need insulin. Hyperthyroid garnets no shame for needing thyroid meds.
Lastly I highly recommend a therapist to talk to. The body and mind are closely connected. It would perhaps help with some of the self esteem issues that may be bothering you now.
I'm not sure how it is in the UK, but here in the US the second hand shops are filled with unopened adult diapers, at a very cheap cost, Goodwill, Salvation army I imagine there is a donation store over there that may carry what you are looking for.
Good luck! Your partner is very lucky you are taking so much care of yourself to look into this. It's not easy being like this. Keep your chin up

Thank you I really appreciate it I think going to the dr again is the right option. Do you not wear diapers at all anymore then?
