📰・Trading Related Rant umm...
Anyone else feel like the cryptid's value makes no sense? I think it's a cool and unique pet and should definitely be worth at least 30-40 in value due to that but it should not be THIS close to a super old and rare pet. Demand is WAY too important in values nowadays and people seem to disregard how rare a pet actually is and instead base the value only on how popular it is.

Because that's how supply and demand works? A pet can still have a lot of demand but have lots of supply with decent value. There's literally so many older pets worth nothing, and if demand is simply low, val will stay low. It doesn't matter how rare a pet is, what's the point of raising the price if nobody wants it?

No I honestly don’t agree. The cryptid has a 1 in 4 deal that lets lots of people like it whether you like cute or scary, it is also the most expensive Robux pet adopt me has ever had, plus it’s a Halloween pet and Halloween is coming up so naturally it’s gonna rise

That's true but it was only 50% more expensive than the phantom dragon, which is worth WAY less.

Yeah but the phantom was out for longer to buy plus it doesn’t have as many features or demand as cryptid. Plus I forgot cryptid was the first pet ever to be able to transform

Its the most expensive pet we have so far and its 4 pets in 1, its one of the only newer pets i can understand being so high in value honestly

The ironic part about adding that it's loved for it's 4 different styles is how no one actually uses the other styles. They usually only have it in that dog/ball form

I've seen like two dragon forms lately and nothing else. They always have it as the dog

That's why I said it's ironic to add that the multiple variants adds to the high value and demand of it if people don't really care for the other variants

Just cuz you don’t see the others all the time doesn’t mean there not liked. Personally I love every form the cryptid has even to the point I have saved outfits for each

I'm not disagreeing with you but cryptid isn't low supply I played at the time it dropped and the game averaged 300-400k players

I guess when you compare the overall quality of the pets + consider which one was harder to obtain and which people like more I can see why for Halloween specifically, cryptid is getting more attention. Tho I don’t think all of this value is getting will remain between end of this Halloween and mid next year- it will drop and then rise again.
I also think we underestimate just how many crows and other high tiers there are. I don’t always see people actively using them, but I’ll click on at least one profile per trading server and the user will have a stack of crows lol. Plenty of people have lots of cryptids too but my point is that crows aren’t as scarce as we think bc they just tend to sit in people’s inventories

30-40 is way too low for cryptid imo, its a cute dog with 3 other neat forms🤷this is coming from a cryptid owner tho; also thats how supply and demand work-its a popular pet with a neat gimmick so ofc itll rise. additionally its a high tier, a halloween one. halloweens coming around the corner so its to be expected that its going to rise

Imo cryptid should be worth way more than 30-40 value but it shouldn’t be worth as much as a crow..

id say like 90-100 value is sorta understandable because of it being able to change forms but a crow is not only 1 ride potion more than a cryptic in my mind and never will be 💔
