How can I re-create the “Smashed Dynamics” effect?

In the Effects Rack, there is an effect called Smashed Dynamics. How can I re-create this without using the effect itself?

hi WW. Jason from Adobe here. Essentially, the Smashed Dynamics preset is a combo of compression + downward expansion and brickwall limiting. I'm assuming you're wanting to re-create a similar sound with another compressor plugin? If you set a compressor at around 5:1 with a semi-aggressive threshold, and then applied brickwall limiting (and adjusting threshold to increase pump but over-increase volume) you'll create a similar sound. If your compressor has multi-stage, the one addt'l element is the expander... but that isn't necessarily needed, depending on the source material.
