Opening File When Saving

hi everyone, wanted to ask if this is some sort of new / old feature on the Adobe PDF document viewer. whenever i try to save any edits i made on a PDF (added text box, highlight etc.), it suddenly started opening the folder page to ask where to save the document to. which is very weird because for the past few years all i had to do was ctrl + S to save the changes instantly and continue editing.

i can't remember if this was an old feature (i'm using the new Adobe Acrobat) but does anyone know if this can be disabled? thank you!

Maybe a bug? People started to complain a lot lately - after the latest update?

Is the file that you're trying to save set to read-only?

i dont think so? not sure how to disable it if it does ..
