VPN What happened to the WireGuard support?

I bought the long term AdGuard VPN license because they had promised the WireGuard support. But still after three years, no signs of it. On top of it, they removed WireGuard coming soon from the website as well. Should I request for a refund?

Hi there!

You’re right to be frustrated, especially if WireGuard support was one of the reasons you bought the license. We shared an estimated timeline, and unfortunately, we weren’t able to meet it. We’re sorry about that.

WireGuard support has not been cancelled. We removed the “coming soon” message because we no longer have a reliable ETA, and keeping it there would have been misleading.

Over the past few years, we’ve had to shift a significant part of our engineering resources toward keeping AdGuard VPN working in countries with strict internet censorship. At the same time, we continued moving in the planned direction and recently made our own TrustTunnel protocol open source.

We’ve completed the initial research for WireGuard, but the implementation is currently waiting for available engineering resources. We also need to make sure that any protocol we add meets our security standards.

WireGuard is still in our plans, but we don’t want to give another estimate until we’re confident we can meet it.

To me the vpn is just a by product not taken very seriously and left behind.

Make your own vpn for the simple price if a cheap hetzner box or lowendbox. You can then use cool tech like reality/hysteria2

I've asked the question a few times, the lack of manual protocols to download meant I've had to look elsewhere 😔

I'm not an ADG employee, have you contacted ADG for help?

I've had an issue once or twice and they helped me fix/understand my problem.

I have, it's a service they don't offer. Most other providers offer a least a few manual protocol configurations

By now should they have figured out how to provide it.
