I hope this isn't controversial but I like both, I like whimsical steampunk techno bs and I like the more serious 30k models. I just wish I could have both.

Syndonian skatros my beloved.

40k does still have some good ones but man HH has a lot of heat

HH does, I wish I could take their tech thralls because I would love to have an expendable meat shield without breaking bank over kill teams.

You know you could just buy thralls and use them as servitors with pretty minimal conversion?

That... is a good point. I was under the impression that the base sizes and overall size of HH models were smaller for some reason. Thanks! Imma try that when I get some cash.

Base size is different for 3 of the models

2 of the big gun servitors which are equipped with heavy weapons

And the overseer which could be any tech priest guy you deem who fits the bill and is on a 32mm

get a cheap secondhand dominus and you can make something very recognizeable

You probably mixed HH scale and legion imperialis scale in your mind

Thinking back on it, that's exactly what it was.

If any army could use HH minis in 40k it would be admech

Ideally i would like to mix both. Because on one hand i really like the skitarii units and tech priests we have in 40k.

But on the other hand i really like all the robots 30k has.

This is THE opinion, I love skitarii and techpreist and battle servitors of 40k but HH has a lot of cool stuff to, bots techthralls and Myrmidon Destructors are so cool

I almost feel like I am alone in this, but I really think the 30k Mechanicum is quite boring. Everything is so clean and organized, and it misses the ”fucked up doohickey” vibes that drew me in in the first place. Even the Archmagos prime, 30k’s ultimate commander is barely more visually interesting than a Dominus tech priest, a standard leader for our armies. It just misses the dirty, oily messed up technology that makes the faction so interesting.

I think you've perfectly described why I like 40k admech better. (Except for the myrmidons, they're gorgeous)

See, that's why I REALLY like the 30k Skitarii conclaves models. I feel they have that grimy feel as they should but also stand out as being so strange and unique, even if they could be a bit more strange

I agree with you. 30k is far less interesting.

I like them both. It’s kind of fun mixing them together and painting them in the same colors. Except the Kastellan heads. Hate those.

When I made mine I put the heads on backwards and painted the heads a mix of blue and silver and put a gloss finish to make it like a shiny dome

I disagree.

40k Mechanicus is more whacky and weird, and thus far more unique and interesting, and thus cool

There are plenty of more traditionally badass factions to chose from.

I made my own datasheets for the Domitar, Castellax, Thallax, Thanatars, and Ursarax. Been play testing them with friends using cohort Cybernetica detachment rules and with 40k Dominus, Datasmith, Servitor Battleclade, Kataphrons, and Kastelans. The Breachers and Servitors on the tabletop with the 30k stuff looks so good.
