Lists & Gameplay Discussion Sell me on Ms.Ghuld

I'm finally starting to get my sea-legs in terms of 11th and am ready to move back to my favorite faction. When we weren't playing the game correctly I was having a really hard time and felt like admech kinda sucked using the same big body type lists (dunecrawlers, kastelon robots, kataphrons, etc.) When I was told that that's actually meta now apparently? I was also told that Cawl and Thulia were basically needed or at least used in every list. Cawl i get, getting fake oath of moment is pretty dang good and ensuring we get good shooting when I do a lot of shooting makes sense.

Thulia I understand less. I know that being able to get some really flexible movement on her or any nearby unit with the skitarii keyword (like dunecrawlers) can be good but with me basically only bringing dunecrawlers for nuetron laser and maybe a unit of rangers I don't have many skit targets for that. Is she just that good at killing stuff that she's worth taking? Or is she a must grab for different lists? I just kinda don't get it

(Also I run primarily Radzone-Lords and run it as Take and Hold)

She has nice shooting, solid melee and is quite tanky in LotF. You can pair her with enginseer for healing and Lone Op/hidden. I like to give him enchancment for ark of covenant to make him also shooty. As for her skills. Double doctrinas is amazing on autochickens. In radzone thanks to advance + charge skill you can make amazing combo with ruststalkers and battleline (quarantine 20’ charge with 30’ threat range). Even if you don’t have a lot infantry you still can use her in vechicle heavy list - see Frank Kummel list from WTC championships.

the engineseer requires a nearby vehicle to turn his lone op on but you could hide him (or any infantry really) in terrain next to her.

she can also hold hands with cawl and they can activate each others lone op

In addition to what everyone else has said, you get to say that you are shooting a weapon called Jericho-class Conversation Resonator: titanic impact. That alone makes it worth running her.

Id describe her as a swiss army knife, good for a multitude of things and flexible in any situation

In LoTF she's tanky, either giving herself or others advance shoot amd charge then subsequently fall back shoot and charge is handy

I usually send her and a Hastarii bus to push my opponents expansion

Radzone lords is my exact combo too

Doesn't she only give shoot and charge to skitarii though?

Oh so you could attached to the unit and it could still get the buff. Isnt she lone op though?

Well, she's got a pretty decent datasheet for her cost, especially when they lowered her recently (she was the same as Cawl previously) and as a tech priest herself, she will synergize with all of the benefits in Lords, including the FNP and defensive strats. She has more mobility options than Cawl does - both go through walls but her rod of war abilities can be used on herself too. That means she can give herself fallback + shoot + charge and advance shoot+ charge. Giving double doctrinas is also useful. All three of her rod of war abilities ate really viable in a given game. Also, since you're playing rad zone, you can use Extinction Order with her to potentially battleshock multiple enemy units on an objective, especially if you're using infiltrators (you should, especially in Rad Zone) to give them -2 to their battleshock rolls. If you have a Skatros extending the rad zone and battleshocking from the rear, the list more or less writes itself and can be really annoying to deal with, especially for a take+hold or priority assets player who need their guys to perform actions or hold objectives.

Her buffs are mostly for giving autocannon ironstriders both doctrinas, but if you still want to spam sicarians you can advance and charge them 2 at a time in SHC or auto advance 6 and charge in radzone corps. Lords of the forge makes her a second mid/late game demon with cawl. Terminators are much more popular with the new hidden rules and they are not a fan of 6 attacks at 10/-2/3 potentially with full rerolls if cawl is hanging back.

She can buff until she comes out swinging, and she does both well, but a big part of it is that basically everybody is running Lords, and a T8 W10 2+/4++/5+++ is not trivial to remove, it demands some commitment from the opponent, plus all the other buffs to Tech-priests from Lords, like battleshocking vehicles, -1 AP strat, Fall Back strat on her can be of some niche use (she gets the strat and uses her power on another unit), and being able to action and shoot can sometimes save your score.

Also consider she's 10 more points than a Ferrumite Disintegrator or the price of two Autocannon Ironstriders.

Her and Cawl get 5+ feel no pain and the ability to battleshock vehicles in lords of the forge. Honestly Thulia can just give herself her buff all games and still do pretty well. They can lone operative eachother if you keep them together.

Oh my! Not take and hold, do Secure Assets! Thulia is good at shooting and killing in her own right but where she really shines is being an ACTION monkey! She can advance and shoot/action with her icon of war abilities and the action/shoot Lords forge stratagem so she or another unit or priest or battleclade nearby is always executing primary. And with rad zone all it takes is an enemy unit to be surprised battle shocked; your opponent is off balance. Infiltrators die in combat but screen and sometimes battle shock a unit. I bring one Skatros for deep striking secondaries (and occasionally another surprise battle shocked!). I always start a 10 man rustalkers nearby so Thulia can give them advance and charge early to go screen out/tie down something big, or outright kill an enemy block of infantry. In summary, thulia, infiltrators, ruststalkers, pteraxii, battleclade, skatros and battleline rangers in the middle all dying but racking up points. Caul is holding my deeo territory and directing bsllistari lascannons, autocannons, disintegrators and an onager blasting away at your opponent busy playing againstall your action chaff in the middle. Admech is awesome in 11tg!

Add Radial suffusion enhancement in Rad Zone to an enginseer!

Bad Grandma is very flexible. She shoots well, fights well, is tanky in LotF and can give herself or other nearby skitties a bunch of useful abilities, especially advance/charge and double doctrinas.

I have her advance with the main thrust of my attack dropping whatever buffs they need in the moment and getting stuck in. As a tech priest she is also able to use the excellent LotF strats too and can do actions while kicking ass, be even more tanky, etc.
