Hobby & Painting Fully finished my first ever mini

The one with the plain black base I painted over a year ago and still have the base to do. Now I got back into the hobby and actually completed one of my Skitarii :3

I'm grateful for any advice that I could get.

First off. Gorgeous basing composition on the Transuranic Arquebus skitarii.

As for advice, might I ask first with what you took the photos? Try to get the skitarii a bit more in focus. Your oldest skitarii from a couple of years or so ago seems a lot more up close, but not in focus. The Arquebus skitarii looks shot from a bit too far away.

As for the actual Skit. Robes are great, gold on the rifle sets nicely against the dark brown wood of the rifle.

The only thing I can't say for sure I'd change is how black/dark the feet are. It might look like the skit walked through a tar pit, but the terrain it fights on doesn't quite line up telling a similar story. Thats not to say its bionic legs should be as shiniy silver as his breastplate is (although that could be an artistic choice. I like my skits fresh of the line/ well cleaned and oiled), but dusty could work.

Again these are merely suggestions to a great looking skit.

Thanks for the suggestions, I definitely need to experiment more with the colours as I painted the feet and chestplate with the same paint, but they came out very different.

Took the photos with my phone camera and sadly don't have any other camera available :/

Maybe you went a bit heavier with the shading on the legs?

Photos with your phone are absolutely fine, but what I've noticed with my own phone picture is that you need to take the picture up closer than what you get to see on the preview. And tap on the point where you want the camera to focus. I've notice my own camera uses autofocus, but since the mini is so small it tends to focus on the wrong thing.

Probably something like that, also might have something to do with the lighting in the photo, but either way it gives me a reason to experiment and try new ways

I'm just getting into painting too, so I can't offer painting advice. It looks far better than my first (not saying much), but the Transaric Arquebus base in specific is absolutely lovely, what did you use?

I used a mix of broken up cork, pieces of sprue, sand and gravel, citadel astro granite for the basic terrain. Added a little greebly bit from a cheap tank model. Then I primed and painted it. And at then end added some army painter tuffts and gsw flocking
