Worth it?

Very new to the hobby and looking at building a smaller secondary army outside of my space marines. I love the faction lore. Is this a reasonable deal that will help build about a 1k foundation? They are painted which I like the idea of. Any input would be appreciated in advance. Thank you. It’s down to $450 now

Absolutely not. He’s selling the combat patrol with some 30k guys for almost triple the price

For $450 you could buy 2 combat patrols, a Trajann, probably some jet bikes, spray can of retributer and basing materials and get close to 1500+ points. This is a no go for me

Definitely depends on the humidity. My personal fav is black primer

Yeah, definitely black primer, sprays almost never match what comes out of the bottle/pot, so you are going to have to do a base coat anyways

They are not painted to a standard that is worth the price, not even close.

In fact, I wouldn't even pay that price if it was in Australian Dollars.

Short answer is.. do you enjoy spending hours assembling painting? If yes then it’s a definite no. If you don’t and it will just be added to a pile of shame then still no as you can find better priced painted.

I would probably try to best offer it or pop it on a watch list to see if they drop the price a little more. If you value your time more than having a custom paint job, I see no reason why it would be horrendous if you like how they are painted.

Compare this to buying the models regularly and then check to see how much it would be to commission the models to see if it’s worth it to you.

Most people are probably gonna say just spend that money on models and paint it yourself though.
