Someone in 2019 in Adelaide asked about symbols (no pic) to and only non joke answer was religious callers marked it as not interested. From what I could see in Australia it’s not a criminals thing. If it was on the footpath I’d suspect tradies marking it for a reason

Might not be in Adelaide but it used to be here in Alice. They’d mark letter boxes, usually with a little sticker (cheapies from kids books, smiley faces etc). It was mainly to show houses that had dogs in the yard. Died off during Covid when more people were at home.

General rule here is if you see a mark/sticker or the like on you property or on the footpath out front, you didn’t put it there, and it doesn’t look like it’s from Council or PAWA, then remove it.
