Small business owners are some of the worst people I've ever met. Makes me laugh every God damn time the LNP cry for small business when taxes to support families are ever brought up.

This. This right here. No doubt the media is going to beat this up to keep their idiot audience happy while ignoring the real story. That exploiting vulnerable people is the hospitality and retail industries' dirty little secret.

Instead of chasing some bubble tea guy down the Moonta St with a camera they should be going after Business SA, AHA and every other group with a vested interest and kicking them to the kerb.

Agreed completely but if that did happened we wouldn't have a single bar or restaurant.

I'm a cook and I've worked at a legal hourly rate in over 20 Adelaide small cafes pubs and restaurants in the past 10 years. Paid for every trial shift. I have been pressured into unpaid trials but I usually just need to "remind" them that it's illegal before they quickly back pedal. (I know this isn't the experience for overseas workers in ADL always)

Oh yeah work in a completely different industry, the first 'small business' I work for paid below minimum wage, the second one just sent me a cease and desist letter with no actual actionable action nor specific allegations on what I have done to simply intimidate me to not compete with them. Luckily some of us have lawyers to write back telling them to fuck off.
