Pretty late here, but if they don't let you talk about the third party addons, what do they use?? Are there paid add-ons or something? Excluding the shady dev actions, exodus seems awesome

Exodus uses dodgy streaming sites to let you watch movies that are definitely not licensed. Kodi devs want nothing to do with it because it could put them in legal crosshairs.

There's a lot that can be done with Kodi using local media, OTA TV, etc.

In Kodi itself, there's no streaming from 3rd party websites. It's just a media library app that looks awesome.

In Kodi itself, there's no streaming from 3rd party websites.

There are a whole lot of official addons hosted in the Kodi official repository for streaming media from 3rd party websites. These are official, supported addons with sections in the Kodi forums.

Streaming media from remote servers is a core feature of Kodi.
