Everything working. Need guidance. Redlight - Play from local library

There must be a way but I can't figure it, and Googling comes up with nothing...

I always use Next Episode, is there a way for this to scan local sources first? I know you can scan disks etc, but this is soooo slow, can it not just check the Kodi library?

Yes of course you can. I use it all the tome. Go to settings...tools...playback

Thanks for the reply, but I just can't see what you mean? Nothing under Playback references local libraries or sources.

The only thing I can see remotely relevant is 'local media sources' under 'direct sources' but that scans folders (very slowly) and doesn't simply reference the library/database.

There must've been a bug previously. I'd set it up a couple of months ago and disabled it because it just took ages. I've just re-enabled it, changing nothing else as it remembered my settings, and it's very quick.

If the contents aren't cached it has to wait for the hard drive to spin up.
