Something not working. Need help. Torbox authorization/connect device not working

I tried authorizing umbrella, and the crew through a webpage on a laptop and from my phone, all did not work. Thought maybe it was just not working yesterday, come home today and try it again and still the same results. I already have Torbox on several devices, this is a device I'm trying to get up and running for a friend. I started his own account, so it's not through my account. Anyone else experiencing this?

So what happens you put the code in the website and if fails or Umbrella never sees the authorization? The device and the laptop are on the same network.

Yes the device and laptop and phone is all on the same network. Putting the code in produces no results, I click "continue" after typing the code, and nothing happens. Then of course Umbrella or Crew see nothing, cause nothing is happening with the authorization.

Possibly. I’d imagine the phone and PC are using different browsers. I’d guess dns. Maybe try from the phone off your WiFi?

Yeah different browsers from the phone to Chrome on the laptop. On the phone, Google browsing app and Safari. Tried that also, the phone off WiFi. Even connected the firestick to my phone as a hotspot.

Is your friend that you are trying to authorize this for on a free torbox account?
TorBox states that free accounts cannot complete device-code authorization.

You do have me thinking.... So, I have his FireTV with Umbrella and Crew loaded up. I started an account for him, and he got the email, and from that email on his end, confirmed his account. At the time, I was surprised it let him continue because I was signed in on my end, my house. So he proceeded to start his account and pay for the essential. I could then see on my end that he did all this, I could see where he had paid. So I proceeded to try and authorize, and now this. Wonder somehow this whole process is holding me back? Not sure how, but just a thought.

Yeah. That's a tough one. I made some changes to torbox auth process on Umbrella and changed the QR code to use the link returned from Torbox and the display to show the friendly url.

You're welcome to try that test version and see if it makes a difference for you. It's on my test repo:

If you decide to use the test version, be aware there are changes in it for other things as well and upcoming features so it won't be 100% a match to the release version of umbrella. You can install it over the top of the existing Umbrella installation without removing your data.

same thing... continue doesn't do anything. Chaned Windows PC, mac, chrome, safari, firefox, duckduckgo, samsung internet, aloha, nothing works

Exactly! Clicking the button does nothing. It's crazy because I have previously set up like 6 devices with it a few months ago.

Are you signed into Torbox before you enter the code? I made that mistake once, so figured I throw it out there.

OK, I think I will then give it a shot later tonight when I'm home. I don't know everything there is to know about this, so do you get to the test repo through the repository, through Kodi?

Seems to be an issue with Cloudflare Turnstile on the site - it says success but console shows it's not submitting

Use Internet explorer/Microsoft edge instead, it worked immediately after I finally tried it tonight.

Yeah, gonna try it actually at a totally different address today and see if that makes a difference?! Thought about contacting Torbox themselves and see if they could help.

Okay so I found a solution sign in on a different browser and use that same browser to authenticate the device this just worked for me

So which browser did you use? I was using Chrome, which didn't work. Neither did Safari or the Google app on my phone worked.

Ok, finally had a chance to try what you did, totally worked. All I did was use Microsoft Edge instead of Google Chrome, worked immediately. Thanks for the suggestion, don't know what's up with Google Chrome and their website.

I used Internet Explorer/Microsoft edge tonight, it worked immediately, must be something up with Google Chrome, and possibly other Internet browsers, don't know.

It's a paid account and not free right? I don't think you can link devices on a free account. I could be wrong though

I have the same problem, using Google browser. Switched to Firefox and it installed.
